Cristano Rolando put his nightmare World Cup behind him with a brace on his first appearance for Portugal as they cruised past Liechtenstein in their Euro 2024 qualifying opener with a 4-0 win.

The former Manchester United star - who thought he had got a touch on the opener before it was given to Joao Cancelo - netted a third from the penalty spot after Bernardo Silva had fired in the second, before smashing in a trademark free kick to make this a routine opening win in qualifying.
