I support the idea of adding value,actually it have been discussed in various gov platforms in Tanzania and across the continent.

But sometimes Africans are too quick to generalise stuff and most Africans lack a deep knowledge of how mining works.

Take like coal. If we use this notion of saying we shouldn't give away without adding value,that means most of our coal will never be extracted. You can't add much value to coal.

Then you have a guy who has very little of gold. You can't build expensive refinery for a handful of gold.Uneconomical.

And again,having a harmonized mining laws will help to some extent but won't solve everything. That can only work for those minerals which Africa has more than the rest of the world,the mining companies won't have options but to abide by Africa's General mining laws. But to those minerals which we have less,mining companies will just opt to go dig somewhere else.

Industrialisation is not all about adding value to minerals.

KQ already flies from Accra to Senegal without coming to Nairobi - saving your poor country - some shame. Or you want to be flying to Europe or Dubai - then fly back to Senegal.

So mad cow - Africa Open Skies is imperative - KQ & SAA & ET have to drive it.

Some way more advanced countries loot in their protest too, not just because of hunger. It depends on the society and the character of the citizens generally. Ghanaians and Zambians for instance are very calm people generally, same as Tanzania's.

Let me use another example (unrelated to looting) which is the desire of many young Nigerians in general to travel out of Nigeria. This is mostly prevalent in Southern Nigeria. Yet by many indices, Southern Nigeria should be more comfortable or better than Northern Nigeria.

The Northerners (including middlebelters), even when they go abroad are more likely to return to their homeland than the Southerners in general.

This is just an example to show that not everything should be interpreted from a black/white lens.

Apart from hunger (which signifies lack), greed is also a major factor here.

Yes culturally - Ghanas, Zambias,TZ - or where it's dominated by farming Niger-Congo people - they are likely to be peacefully & settled with assured food production & really no need to fight - most sub-saharas that is - compared to supra-sahara which are drier cattle keeping hostile regions almost by default as people have fight for water, pasture, cattle and anything in btw.

Before KQ flew from Accra to Senegal Dakar - you'd normally fly to Portugal - then come back dakar. Many countries in West Africa do that - transit through Europe. Very shameful.

If you look at my previous posts,I said Africa need to check where they can have an advantage and use that to add value to the minerals.
What I refuse is to have a blanket approach on all minerals on every country of Africa, it simply can't work that way.Mining is complex, u can't just squeeze everything in one bag and put a one rule for everything.

Yes they can ban raw export of cocoa for Ghana and ivory coast. It will work.But the same rule can't work on coal or diamonds or uraniums.

Tanzania isn't jeolous of kenya.We can't be jealous to someone starving and is below us.Stop crying. Face your problems head on. For how long will u rely of a fake data? It's easy to lie,but now everything have come to a dead end. You have no foreign currency, and you depend on TZ to help you out.

For generation u lied about having manufacturing. Finally, I realised mostly you are just doing packaging,and that is what caused u to lack foreign currency you import stuff,packaging them and label it made in kenya.foolish.

Daily you will hear manufacturers in kenya crying for foreign currency. Why should a manufacturer cry so much for a foreign currency?

A real manufacturing is that which source most of raw materials locall.At least 75% of raw materials should be sourced locally. But what kenya does is simply getting almost all raw materials outside and try to manufacture in kenya. That way u will cry for foreign currency forever

In that sense,forget about competing with TZ.
