rvp20182:It's not about forcing Eskom, if anything why would Government not want to sell it (ignoring that ANC ministers are enriching themselves and thus don't want to sell) ? It's totally bankrupt with no hope of recovery and its costing Government billions a month to run. |

Mkenya2019:Talking about the data, its vague and says absolutely nothing because most Ghanaians make $250-$400 on average but reports of Ghanaians making $15,000 has been reported. |

Ghana average wage now about a dollar 𝚄𝚗𝚊𝚙𝚘𝚕𝚘𝚐𝚎𝚝𝚒𝚌 𝙽𝚒𝚌𝚔©✍🏿 @domynych ¢14.80 is the minimum daily wage in Ghana, when food can easily cost the average person ¢500-1000/m (¢20-30 daily), means a sizable number of Ghanaians are FOOD POOR. Food prices relative to wages should dominate our political discourse and not party politics. We're SUFFERING! |

rvp20182:An average income is not a standard in an informal economy . How many times will that be repeated to fool. Minimum wages can never do justice here . |

The usual mad ranting we've come to expect from Ghanians. How does this even make sense. You think Ghana is only economy with large informal sector. That is true for almost every African country. Still gov should set decent minimum wages in formal sector that will guide the informal sector. vaxx: |

You're not making sense on how you transition from Eskom to Australia. You're advocating that Gov allow Eskom to go into bankruptcy? Then out of that chaos - new private players will emerge - buy Eskom assets? Or build a new 40,000MW electricity infrastracture from the scratch? I think solution is simple - nationalize Eskom debt (take it off their balance sheet & clean it) - Restructure Eskom by splitting it into many companies. Split generations - into a few companies Split supply - into a few companies - maybe even allow each province to have their own power supply company. Remain with national backbone - say 400V lines that connect major cities. jl115: |

rvp20182:I want to see Kenyans actually make good money, be able to own good homes and not be living hand to mouth. Ghanaians are entrepreneurs, which means a huge amount of money outside any accounting . This is why you see Ghanaians more wealthy and Ghana having a larger middle class population than Kenya. |

rvp20182:You are an idiot , informal economy are majorly a one man ventures , so how is govt going to set a standard on how much many individual who are into it are going to pay themselves. Govt should be responsible for how much one man who owns a business should be earning on his own ventures , you are not just mad , you are idiot too. |
| Re: Kenyans Are Far Behind Nigerians In Every Aspect – Fani-Kayode by rvp20182: 3:18pm On Mar 30, 2023 |
Kenya gov does that. The laws applies to everyone - informal or formal. If gov set minimum wages - say 130USD like kenya - and you underpay someone - he can go to court. Even house maid in kenya - you've to be careful. https://www.standardmedia.co.ke/article/2001230827/house-helps-in-kenya-win-big-in-court-battles-with-employers The Government in 2015 raised the salary for house helps to a minimum Sh10,954 from Sh9,781. In addition to the basic pay, employers are also required to allow their workers a compulsory weekly 48-hour break which is an equivalent of two days off and also contribute to the National Health Insurance Fund and National Social Security Fund on their behalf. Failure to give off days, according to Regulations of Wages (General) (Amendment) Order 2015, attracts Sh527 compensation per day or Sh4,216 a month. vaxx: |

rvp20182:monkey..... From 6am to 9 pm in Ghana just for a day , some people will make a double of your highest income salary . How will you calculate such an individual wages which is just a lone earner. We have people who just sell road side food . They will feed five of your family without having issue . And this is just inform record that doesn't have an account |

rvp20182:Another idiocy . Even the very few who runs 9 to 5pm job set aside some informal set of hustling . It is very common seeing a teacher here having a restaurant runs by siblings or family or a policeman having a barbing saloon or a banker with many taxis off the street etc it is common. You want to understand how this place work , you will need your brain not just some kind of foolery you are reading about . If the same nairobi is where the same kibera exist then I must say you are indeed stupid . Anyway Accra over nairobi anytime . You can believe in your make heaven . |
