No doubt there's religious war and it's interwoven with politics.
MasterJayJay, those Muslims supporting Deborah Samuel's killings are cruel folks who deserve punishment. The killers too deserve capital punishment cos they should v been executed by govt to serve as deterrent. But the politics aspect made Sokoto State govt to show lackadaisical attitude to the case. Even the Sultan had little or nothing to say. When a liberal Muslim see the act as aberration, the fanatics who I blv are the majority control their politics and tell them not to go there. So it ll take a govt with strong will to display zero tolerance for religious bigots.
Also, in the case of Obi, he played into the hands of islamists and propagandists.
Atiku and Tinubu visited churches but it wasn't publicised as Obi's visits. Both made controversial statements too. Obi could have met with religious leaders face to face and discuss thereby reducing the brouhaha of leaked tapes just like that of him and Oyedepo. The FG is in charge of telecoms so his called van be tapped. Next time, he should be more discreet and calculative.
Lastly, LP allowed APC to label it Igbo party due to the boastfulness, gragra, gburugburu and nzogbu-nzogbu politics of some Igbos. Presenting GRV in such manner was so easy for him to be targeted as Omo-Yiibo. The guy couldn't speak Yoruba, said he doesn't think like Yoruba, had posts sympathetic to Igbos in the past and also to have mocked a person of Pst EA Adeboye in the past. It's is not for you to tell anyone to accept defeat. Case is in court. Except you are the presiding judge, or the litigant, keep your advise to yourself.
