Despite its controversial subject matter. It is a fantastic story told from the POV of the main antagonist. I had a tough time choosing between this and Mistborn: The Final Empire

Some movies are so bad that they are good like The Room and Batman & Robin. I didn't enjoy this movie in any capacity. I was originally drawn in by the neat card trick at the beginning. Now, I knew it was CGI but it was still well executed.

Everything fell apart from there. I expected a movie about illusionists using magic tricks to con police and banks but here, the main characters basically had superpowers. Superpowers that did not follow any established internal logic. I can even forgive poor logic if your can distract me with good action sequences. However, the action sequences had more jump-cuts than a reality show and were generally hard to follow.

Furthermore, the characters were one dimensional as hell. I didn't give a crap about any of them. I didn't care for the shoehorned romantic subplot between the main antagonist and the hot French cop lady.

The twist at the end left me wishing that I could go back in time to a point where I hadn't seen Now You See Me. Hell, I'm getting stressed out having to relive this movie rn.

I finished Worm about 4 or 5 years ago and I just as I was psyching myself to start reading part 2, I stumbled on a post by wildbow clarifying something about the ending. Not to spoil anything, I really didn't like that post.
