Watkins is one player I've always liked. Deceptively strong, very good technique.

His positioning and movement around the box reminds me of Benjani, especially when he was at Portsmouth. He just needs to add the celebration and allow his dada to grow longer.

This Frontline...why not play Auba or DDF in the no.9 position?

Madueke is not even in the squad, instead Ziyech is there. Na wa

Not a bad call though maybe a little less physical and a bit more technique than Benjani.

You should watch Benjani at Portsmouth when he was younger, man was impossible in some games.

Watkins is not a bully like Benjani

Until now Watkins has struggled physically although he is looking bulked up last few months

Benjani was a chaos causer. The guy thrived on all those ping pong balls in the box. Just rough handle the defenders and hit the ball.

Yea, he has bulked up and the assist for their first goal is a testament to this improvement but nothing like Benjani. Benjani used to “jagba” ball from defenders.

I'll hand it to him. He's been playing well since Emery came and he's scoring goals - even when they lose.

Now that his teammates trust him to get the goals, they defend better and have been winning games.

He scored in the last 5 games, I think.

And from his general appearance, you wouldn't guess that he could be this good.

I'll rather finish 11th than play conference league.. Putin u do us this one , if you look at Aston villa & Newcastle it's obvious we haven't improved & we'll blame everyone ; players ,coach, board .
