Bankole Wellington, popularly known as Banky W, has said service to community should not be dependent on being in government, IGBERETV reports.

The singer, who was the PDP candidate for the House of Representatives election in Eti-Osa federal constituency of Lagos State, lost to the Labour Party candidate.

Taking to his Instagram handle, Banky stated that not getting a seat in government shouldn't stop one from serving the community.

He wrote;

"If our service to community was only dependent on whether we got a seat in the government, then we don't deserve a seat in the first place."

"Good Friday was a great Friday. @thebworg x @mywaterbrook partnered together and we pulled off an amazing, free clothing and medical drive.

Over 2,500 items given away, and hundreds of people given free access to medical services. Thank you to everyone who donated their time, talent, treasure and resources to make this a success. Thank you to the most amazing volunteers on earth. Thank you to the companies that teamed up with us, including Medpau, Medbury, Kazodo Health, Mai Atafo, Trax Apparel, Ugo Monye, Clean Ace Dry Cleaning, and so many more.

Most importantly, thank you Lord. The service continues.

This was love in action. And the only reason I'm posting this is to hopefully inspire you to be a part of our next community service activities... or to do your own.

Anyways, this is Nigeria. Community service is always misinterpreted to mean exposing the inefficacy of those whose responsibilities you're carrying out. I'll give an example.

Any of you who reside around Okoko (where they just sacked a DPO) should ask why the road leading from Okoko to Ajangbadi and from White House to Jakande is still the way it is across 7 years or more. The reasons are:

1. LG lack of concern; monies are actually released for these projects but the progress not followed through.

2. Embezzlement of project funds by the town leaders, contractors, Baales and all concerned parties.

3. Refusal of community service efforts. The owners of New Planet Resorts and Nagode Industries individually and separately offered to repair those roads respectively but their offers were outrightly refused by the embezzlers.

Deep down he knows the only reason for this laborious act is the so called government seat, my guy don dey use Obi lamba techniques, may be he should contest in 2027 under Lamba Labour Party.

Banky W, I advise you change party or/and aspiration if Peter Obi does not become president this year. If he comes to the polls in 2027 and if the tempo maintains this steam, I'm afraid same fate that befell you this year may come back for you.
