Amoto94: Quotes from Lampard after the game :
“All the basic parts of football - to fight, to run - we were short on”
“For me it’s all about the basics”
“Our fans will be watching a team on Wednesday that will be giving everything”
“Conor Gallagher was another one who gave every drop individually”
“In the basics of football, Brighton are a really good team, but we were shot in tackles, fight and yards. If it isn't right you don't win” Am sure lampard no attend class during him time for coaching school. |

Ibime: The Russian egbon is going personal and I've never even mentioned him.
He must have run out of Courtois examples after Kepa set him another challenge yesterday
I no mention anyone, I talk about my Chelsea and what I want to see change, whether it's Kepa, Felix, Cucurella, Koulibaly or whoever
Egbon, if my criticism of Kepa pain you, go and enlist in Ukraine Ibime is this not too much?

Jodera2: Lol... The thing with life is that when something is being spoke on and hammered consistently (esp with pictures, articles and, journals) people will surely take notice. That's why promotions and advertisement(For positives) are always welcome. But if you want to advertise/promote someone's negative, what's that called??
When Jorginho was here, he was the chief culprits to every goals conceded, shots conceded or every chance(s) not created. Once a goal is conceded, they'll dissect how the chance started from midfield, how he's a weakling, how he's this and that. And every matchday, it'll be emphasized on that people will start seeing Jorginho as the ONLY problem dragging Chelsea back. That's why once Chelsea doesn't score, you'll see comments on how Jorginho is the one limiting Chelsea's attack and even Chelsea concedes, you'll see comments on how it's Jorginho faults.
It was so strong that some felt that once Jorg is sold and a good DLP is bought (in this case Enzo), Chelsea will automatically stroll to Top4 because not only will Chelsea be creating and scoring chances but the defensive aspect will be covered. Now Jorg is gone(The perceived fundamental problem), yet situation still abound.
Now the new culprit and scapegoat Kepa??
Wahala no dey finish sha those who really played football knew jorginho was never 40 percent of Chelsea problems.. The ones who claimed to play football swore he is the reason we are not playing attacking football |

City's title to lose now.
Throwing away two goal leads and two points in two consecutive games isn't good enough.
Have Arsenal bottled the league like they bottled UCL qualification last year? |

ezra01: this issue about kepa should please stop. we should analyse kepa objectively not agenda (ly) 😂😂 I feel kepa is a good goal keeper but not a great goal keeper.. every great teams needs a great goalie kepa has never given us that assurance cech gave us and this somehow affects defenders confidence.. having a short hand is not the cause of him not being a good goalie kepa is not good enough for Chelsea.. onana is shorter and I rate onana ahead of kepa We are Chelsea,, we demand world class players who fits into our play.. not people like havertz who after 3 season has not convinced 65% of the fans with his performance which great goal keeper does Man city and arsenal have |

Barcelona of 2006 to 2015 Messi was the difference in that Barca team, along with maestros like Xavi and Iniesta — all in their prime. Chelsea doesn't have that caliber of players today. |

BlaqFaze: bros learn to read and understand.... I'm not arguing who good pass... I'm arguing height
Since every keeper with short hands is doomed to fail, I brought up Casillas Okay, if a keeper has a relatively shorter hands or smaller height, they need to have a great jumping power and mental alertness. It's those qualities that made Casillas a better and more successful keeper than Kepa. |

Make Lampard go learn coaching under Pep or Ancelotti. He doesn't even know the basics.
Just look at what his fellow legend Xavi is doing in Barcelona.
You can only but admire what young coaches like Arteta and Xavi are doing in Arsenal and Barcelona respectively. |
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by popizaino(m): 5:10pm On Apr 16, 2023 |
Before things deteriorated to this level,we should have called back Lukaku and play 4-4-2 formation.
Flat midfield or is it straight line midfield. Havertz or Fofana should be asked to support Lukaku upfront. Enzo Fernandez,Kante,Mount,Gallagher in a straight line midfield. Erase the idea of playing like prime Barca when you have no decent ball carrier like iniesta or Hazard and deploy carragher to crouch approach, the ball that misses Lukaku won't miss Havertz or Fofana.Trust me we won't labour for goals or be in this kind of situation with winless runs with such approach.
The earlier we realise we don't have decent wide men on the wings who can't create on a one on one situation the better it is for us to go back to the fundamentals of having two men upfront. My ten cent. |

FBS: For those that watch football with hate and just looking to blame players unnecessarily.
I am referring to those that have never played football 11 a side before even though in their minds they have.
I am referring to those with ego size of epiphytic orchids. They think they have ego but they don't.
Chelsea player ratings
GK: Kepa Arrizabalaga - 8/10 - The only reason Chelsea weren't four or five goals behind in the first half and ten or eleven by the final whistle. Excellent.
RB: Trevoh Chalobah - 3/10 - Ruined by Mitoma on a number of occasions apart from one excellent challenge midway through the first half.
CB: Wesley Fofana - 6/10 - Chelsea's best defender for the most part but did not cover himself in glory for the equaliser.
CB: Benoit Badiashile - 3/10 - A poor clearance for the equaliser but hadn't really inspired a lot of confidence before or after then anyway.
LB: Ben Chilwell - 3/10 - Seen arguing with Mudryk over positioning. Nowhere near his best at either end of the pitch.
DM: Enzo Fernandez - 5/10 - Chelsea's main creative outlet in midfield had a tough battle up against Caicedo. Usually came off second-best.
CM: Denis Zakaria - 3/10 - Offered nothing in the midfield battle and left Chelsea hanging on at the back at times.
CM: Conor Gallagher - 5/10 - Scored a scrappy goal and put himself about without ever really offering anything of real quality, and yet was probably still Chelsea's best attacker.
RW: Christian Pulisic - 2/10 - Largely uninvolved.
ST: Raheem Sterling - 2/10 - Didn't offer much but wasn't helped by Chelsea's determination to fire crosses in towards him.
LW: Mykhailo Mudryk - 5/10 - A fast start which yielded the assist for Gallagher's opener but faded as the game went on.
Substitutes
Mateo Kovacic (56' for Fernandez) - 4/10 - Didn't offer the sort of control asked of him.
Hakim Ziyech (56' for Pulisic) - 5/10 - Fairly uninspiring.
Reece James (56' for Fofana) - 5/10 - Not his usual self yet again but his introduction did at least coincide with a drop-off from Mitoma.
Joao Felix (56' for Sterling) - 5/10 - Rarely involved.
Mason Mount (74' for Zakaria) - 5/10 - A challenging cameo.
Manager
Frank Lampard - 3/10 - Prioritising the Real Madrid game is about the only thing Lampard got right here. Had absolutely no answer to anything Brighton were doing but kept his heavy hitters healthy for the game that really matters. Excelent rating, yesterday's game was an eyesore, but who gave Chalobah 3/10? Chalobah should not get more than 1 while Sterling rating should be negative - |
