Kenya is very functional progressive country - I dont know if we need to repeat this daily. Salaries long paid. Delay was for a week.
As at the 15th, that's 3 days ago salaries were still unpaid. That's not a progressive country. It's actually a sign of a malignant tumor. You are the next African country expected to default. Lebanon loading.

Majority of civil servants were paid on time - teachers, police and soldiers - a few agencies that depend on treasury had their money delayed. Kenya will take ages before it become Ghana - small zoo or your dysfunctional zoo.

Ruto has refused to borrow money at interest rates beyond 14% - otherwise he can become a Zoo and borrow like Nigeria at 20%.

First of all, I agree Kenya will take years to be as good as Ghana.

April is the 4th month of no salary and at the moment Kenya is begging for debt forgiveness because it cannot pay and that's worse... A classic Zoo

Ghana should not be in this conversation. A mad man and a broke man cannot hold even the village elder position.

The day your gov summoned the press one sunday morning to announce it was bankrupt - is the day you should have logged off here - and go fix your country.

Take your madness to the people below. Next time elect a better gov.

Ruto is returning kenya to prudent economic management in a record 18 months without IMF telling us common sense.

Tantrums of a lunatic from a bankrupt country begging for another IMF bailout even when the previous 2 hasn't ended, despite years of additional debt freeze.

Go and pay the 4 months salaries owed 😂

Ruto is even dumber than Kenyatta

What is this dwarf man on about? 4 months, are you already getting desperate? Tomorrow the dwarf will say 5 months. Go cultivate cocoa pods like the rest of enslaved hobbits.

Stop lying. All your federal government civil servants are being owed. Even parliamentarians, soldiers, police and teachers. It's a sign that little India is broke and dysfunctional, another Somalia.
Kenya's President, William Ruto, announced that the
country will not acquire loans to pay civil servants,
even as union groups threatened to go on strike
due to unpaid March salaries.
According to Ruto, the salary delays are due to the
country's substantial public debt, with some loans
becoming due this month.

He emphasized that taxes collected by the revenue
authority would be utilized to pay the salaries.
However, at least two worker umbrella bodies have
warned of a strike this week if the salaries are not
paid.
Kenya's chief economic adviser, speaking to the
local media, assured that the salaries would be paid
by the end of the month. The government has been
urged to reduce the wastage of public funds.
Currently, Kenya's public debt accounts for 65% of
the national revenue, with over $420 million needed
each month to pay the salaries and pensions of civil
servants

There is no nexus btw your statement and those allegations. Kenya is an open democracy. You would have heard if teachers or soldiers hadnt been paid.

We have to keep repeating this daily. There was a small liquidity problem as gov targetted borrowing is below target (45% with three months to go) otherwise gov revenues are up 8%.

Again Ruto has a plan that will return kenya to very solid footing in 18 months - this will involve many painful decisions to fix the problem that Kenyatta caused.

"All I assure the country is the commitment I made that we are not going to borrow money to spend on recurrent expenditure, including salaries. That is the position of the Government of Kenya. We will not do that. "

– President William Ruto

It's finished. Kenya is broke completely. Every cent they make now must be kept for payment of debts. I just hope other African leaders do not begin to copy this Ruto boy by owing federal government civil servants salaries.

The lies are coming unstuck. grin
Next would be a default. If you can't pay your workers as and when due, your business is finished and the only way is down until an angel is sent to save you, such as the imf.

Which lies; That kenya economy is 30B dollars? Or what else did you conceive today genius. Nigeria economy using black market dollar is overstated by 100%. Deal with that. Another decade or less - kenya will overtake Nigeria economy.

Sudan Conflict:

"We're already in worst case scenario territory, and from here the scenarios only get grimmer and grimmer, the impact will ripple throughout the region".

Political analysts warn.

This war in Sudan is not good news for African countries in general. We are still suffering the effects of Libya disaster.

We don't have an AU.

It will affect East Africa more. The region is the most unstable part of Africa for now, coupled with drought.
Plus little India, their biggest economy can not even meet its reccurent expenditures by not paying workers.

Sudan has always been a war zone and I don't know which country in East Africa has it's economy linked to it - maybe South Sudan who depend on their oil pipelines?

Sudan economy long tanked to something 40B dollars..

The Zoos can not hold a candle to kenya. This latest from IMF - showing who is more debt distress.

Debt/GDP, budget deficits and FX volatility make the headlines but this is an underrated point about country govt budgets 👇

% budget revenues just to pay interest expenses.

Sri Lanka: defaulted
Ghana: defaulted
Pakistan: near default
Egypt: can't rule out
Nigeria: struggling
