Hhmm... But why get worked up by the way others choose to live their lives? None of them is sad about it. They both find it fun. They're enjoying it. So what's the issue? If you don't like it this way, don't do it. If you see people doing it, ignore them. It's as simple as that. It neither makes you wiser nor them stupid. It's about preferences. There're some things you do that these people would not find appealing too. Live and let live. Cheers!

The issue I have was the abuse melted to the woman who was eventually proposed to. If really I don't like the drama I won't have watched till the end.
Though I see it from your point of view, makes lot of sense.
