Championship payrolls 2018/19

https://www.capology.com/uk/championship/payrolls/2018-2019/
What is capology? Is this a website for cappers? grin

There are 24 teams in Championship. Derby under Lambard had the 6th most expensive team according to transfermakt which you like to quote.

Lambard actually finished 6th on the table. So what is the big deal if man with the 6th most expensive team finished 6th?

Norwich and Sheffield United both had less expensively assembled teams than Lambard and gained automatic promotion to the EPL with 1st and 2nd placed finishes respectively.

Your capology website tells us that Derby had higher wage bills under Lambard than Norwich (finished 1st place), Sheffield United (finished 2nd place), and Leeds (finished 3rd place)

Lambard finished 6th. SIXTH. NUMBER 6

So what exactly are you singing Lambard's praises for? He clearly underachieved by your own websites!

You are using capology for plenty capping grin

Now Derby had many legacy players from their old stint in the Premiership who were on wages of £20k to £35k from their Premiership stint and doing nothing

Lampard came in. And all his signings were earning £8k and below except one. I have highlighted them below, putting paid to your theory that he put them in financial trouble

He made profit on transfers, reduced their wage bill significantly and improved their result

They had the 8th highest wage bill in the Championship, not the 1st and those were all on legacy Premiership players that had been flopping, not Lampards players. You can see the wages of these players in the second pic. If Lampards signings wages were extrapolated through the whole squad, it would place them between 20th and 24th for wages.

And lastly Derby had been on financial trouble way before Lampard. It was known. He probably delayed their administration by one year by cutting their wage bill and making profit on transfers. Third pic below shows their financial troubles beforehand. The owner had to buy the stadium to save them from breaching FFP before Lampard joined.

But to the point, it is an overachievement and someone who did that, took Chelsea young boys to 4th place, in the process realising tens of millions of pounds of profit on players like Abraham, Tomori, Guehi, Lamptey and even Mount and James to come that we would have not otherwise realised, saved an Everton from relegation despite the experience of Benitez leading them there. Such a manager is not as bad as what we are seeing. There is something deeper and the main underlying issue is Boehly playing with the players careers and making foolish decisions at every turn, and the players are showing it on the pitch.

When your tactics is wrong it will look as if there is no motivation. Dead the idea that pep Guardiola or any other good coach can't motivate this crop of players to win.

What is left to play for is that it shouldn't be worse than it is now.
Forget it.

Sheffield United were promoted from League 1 the previous season and then gained AUTOMATIC promotion to EPL whilst Lambard was busy concocting the excuses that you are currently trying share now.

Derby County last played in EPL in 2007/2008 yet in 2018, 10 years later, Lambards excuse is that they were still paying EPL players? grin grin grin

Oya who were the 2008 legacy Premiership players that were still collecting salary under Lambard?

Is there any excuse you won't give for a manager that has lost 31 out of his last 41 games?

Have you blamed MC Oluomo yet? I'm sure you can find a way to do so.

Lambard took Chelsea to 9th place. His replacement didn't take long to take Chelsea boys back to 4th place and crucially....win the UCL, in the same season that Lambard gave the excuse that the same Chelsea boys were not ready to compete!

There's literally nothing you can tell us to exonerate Lambard. Like Bagco super sack, we no go gree!!!!

They won't be motivated this season by any interim. Pep won't be an interim. They would.listen to a big permanent manager because they know their future playing time and career is linked to the permanent manager. As for any interim forget it. Season is over, they are showing their displeasure with Boehly decisions. 70% of them can't wait to get to summer with instructions on their agents to find a way out.

Boehly just need to stay out of football decisions. He is the first American owner to be putting his nose in everything, the other Americans respect themselves.

Well you are right, but the point stands. All their players earning £20k to £35k are legacy players that the club mismanaged, not his players. All his players earned £8k and below except one

You can diss him for this last year performance, but as far as his performance at Derby, mba, that was an overachievement for a club in dire financial straits, and that's what got him the Chelsea job. You can never downplay his Derby achievement. His Chelsea first year achievement was acceptable as was his Everton first year achievement. This we are seeing now, Khadiri Ikhana won't try it, and my argument is it's out of his hands.

Bruh if we lose all our games, Forest get 10 points from their next 4, and the other teams hit 40 points, we are getting relegated.

This is simple maths. It's not impossible. Hence the example of Leicester who couldn't buy a win in 14/15 suddenly winning 7 of their last 9 games of the season.

You can say it's a long shot. Yes. But we are very much on the verge of a relegation battle, because the only 2 'winnable' games are against Bournemouth who are currently in form, and Forest who we could not beat earlier this season.
The big question is where will the other teams (Forest, Leeds, Everton get their 40 points.

Seems you have checked their fixtures and some of them will still play each other

We are already safe

Everton and Leeds face City in the next two which puts us beyond their reach

And a lot of the rest play each other

Sterling has always been terrible it took Peps ingenuity to bring out productivity out of him

Was Sterling not one of those star studded City players that all coaches will be glad to coach?
