Ojukwu handed over a big Chicken 🐔 to the care of Obi, Obi used the 🐔 for Nkwobi, ate it for lunch&hid under the Umbrella 🌂 so that Ojukwu would not see him but the Spirit of the man scattered the Umbrella under which Obi was hiding. Since then, Obi has been labouring in vain!

Ok Lai a minister of information is suppose to repair schools in his constituency instead of facing his ministry work.
so his ministry work involves spending millions of naira travelling abroad to spew trash and leaving the only school in his village to decay

Have you heard of government-private partnership. In fact, the secondary school in my community was 100% built by the community and then handed over to the government. Is it a misnomer for an individual to build and equip library or class-room block(s) for a government institution?
So Lai is suppose to leave his work as information minister to start looking for PPP for his community in Kwara?

Why do think we have local government officials?

Lai Is suppose to take money meant for ministry of information to finance primary schools in his constituency.

I mean by passing the state and local government with original jurisdiction over the projects.
He is part of the federal government Exco. He can lobby the government and his colleagues to site a project or two in his constituency but greed and wickedness will not allow him. Lobbying is allowed.

Perhaps you don't know how goverment works.

As a government official, your scope of responsibility is limited to the portfolio given to you.
So you mean he can't influence such projects with his capacity

There is no proof by anyone that shows it’s in Lai Mohammed village.

Headless mob just lifted a school from Kwara and ran on Twitter to self-service on it.

It has been verified that the school is indeed from Lai Mohammed’s village.

If it’s not, we dare you, APC supporters, to post the primary school Lai Mohammed’s village.

What is the school name. I am not seeing the school name there.

That will expose you people of your lies. Liars don’t usually have good memory. Anyone can just find any image of school and say it’s this.

People that are not as rich as Lai Mohammed are using their hard earned personal money to build schools and hospitals in their villages across the nation.

Can't Lai Mohammed at least use part of his looted fund to renovate the only school in his community ?

A Twitter user @Aminaruk has posted some pictures she claims is the current state of the school in Lai Mohammed village.

Recall that Peter Obi had berated Lai Mohammed for spending the amount of money enough to build 6 classroom blocks in his (Lai Mohammed) village to go trying to tarnish his image in the United States and the UK while he (Peter Obi) was in Onitsha.

Hopefully there would be some Nairalanders in Kwara who can help to either corroborate or debunk this.

The problem with your comment is that it implies that if Lai Mohammed had never gotten a ministerial appointment, his village would have been forever underdeveloped

There is a state governor, a commisioner of education, and a local government chairman, to say nothing of a state house of reps member and councillor at LGA level who could all do something about the school.

If Lai Mohd fixes the school, it would be a good thing, but it would also be a bad thing...in the sense that it shows that the government is just there for decoration.

I am not here to defend APC, or any corrupt poltician. I am here instead to tell you Nigerians that there are people who are not doing their jobs here, and you are ignoring them completely. No wonder we never have development. We all want to wait until our person gets to be a minister before they can fix things in our village? What if they never get there? Na so we go stay for underdevelopment?

Some years ago, some people were blaming GEJ when he was in power for not providing potable water for his village...forgetting that there was a Governor, commisioner of water resources, LG chair, senator, house of reps, state rep....all of whom could have done something since.

Focus on the people responsible for not fixing the school. They have budget allowances for the purpose, yet they are not doing their work. Must the Minsiter of information come and do their work for them? What happens after he leaves office?

So because those people failed to do their job, therefore Lai Mohammed is equally justified to look away while the school is left in ruins? What stops him from showing leadership?

No, people should do the job they are paid for, and voted for.

Simple, and no, I don't like Lai Mohammed or APC, and your point on them spending 40m for a foreign trip is germane, and on point.

But at the end, it is not the responsibility of the Minister of Information to fix schools in his village....that's the responsibility of the state government.

Granted.

But I insist that the minister of information has enough influence to either draw attention to the school if it’s not done or lobby one of the federal parastatals in charge of basic education to give the school a facelift. If anything, the Minister of Education is Lai Mohammed’s colleague in the federal cabinet.

See, Lai Mohammed never thought it important to give that school a facelift. Maybe he holds same mentality with you that it’s not his responsibility. Had he prioritized that school, he would have done it. But he prioritized telling lies and going to foreign lands to accuse people of what they didn’t do.

Then at the end of the day, we might as well do away with state and local governments and just state that the Minister of X also be the state governor and local government chair of each and every local government in their state.
