It actually does put them in an advantageous position. Remember that even Pep wrote off Man City's EPL hopes for this season. As a man City fan, I keep this risk in view and don't raise my hope too high.

Same way Chelsea fans should know that there is real chance of Chelsea getting relegated this season.

Acknowledging the risk has a way of reducing heart break when the risk materializes. Arsenal is still very much in the game.
