Hmm. I was the only serving corp member in this same village between 09/10 (the herdsmen-villagers crisis hadn’t escalated then). It was a 20 min bike ride from the Mangu main town to Beau. There were rising tensions between the villagers & herdsmen. I would witness first hand how the villagers would wake up as early as 4am to go their farms & the annoying part was that between 11am -12pm, you’d see herder leading their cattle along cultivated farm land destroying them as they pass through. I would feel pained deep down about what the herdsmen were doing but the villagers were just peaceful & powerless people who could do nothing about it. What a country….
