You self how you go go watch film of 1981. For me, once it goes below 2005, i am not watching. I love the franchise, but I had to start from 2013.
Na me fvvk up oo. I say I wan capture the soul of the franchise.

I've watched Army of Darkness while I was a teen at my friend's house. I can't remember much of the film or the feel that's why I say make I go far back. I also wasn't a fan of zombie horror so I most likely wasn't paying attention to the film that day except for it's action part.

Na mostly the comparison of the 2013 version as the best and the 1987 make me even wan see what the whole waffling is about. 🥺😭

NB: Some older movies are a great watch tho. If I no go far back, I no go see masterpiece and all time greats and faves like:- Shawshank Redemption, Pulp Fiction, The Shining etc.
You just need to search well enough and know your taste or what you looking for.

Fantastic movie. Practical effects. They still hold up. And the end leaves you wondering.

The reason I even placed Donnie as second is because of all the hypes surrounding Bruce Lee (I haven't watched a single Bruce Lee movie), else, I easily would have placed him as number one.
"In the line of duty" ,"Tiger Cage 1 and 2" were the first Donnie Yen movies I watched. These movies already made Donnie popular since the early 90s. I believe you started recognising Donnie from Ip Man.
Well that's your opinion, we see things differently. for me, Donnie yen is below Jackie and Jet li.

Big upgrade for her after seeing her work in Hulu's "Ramy" series.
The first gladiator is okay, there's no need for a sequel. these guys just want to make money by any means, this is crazy. 😏

As far as people still turn up to watch the said "sequels, reboots, remakes" etc it will continue. You don't support something you don't like or value.

The Super Mario Bros: 8/10
Genre: Adventure/Fantasy

As someone who grew up playing Super Mario Bros, Super Mario World via Nintendo, this was huge nostalgia for me, it truly felt like playing this awesome game after so many years.

The visuals were stunning and energetic, the sounds and the score with reimagined iconic music were perfect, the non-stop action keeps you interested and wanting more, the story, simple but yet enjoyable, the voice act were also on point.

To me, this is one of the best adaptation of a video game series, A big thumbs up to Illumination, they really killed it.

On your words, I will give it a try. I've always wanted to see the Exorcist, but that year has been a major turn off to me.

Honestly that time factor has really denied me from seeing lots of good old movies. I really wish we could have remakes of some of these old movies that'd carry 100% the original content, the only different thing there should be the camera and visual effects if there's any. But that's wishful thinking, because it's not possible.

I'm never doubting the power of Family again.

See, if this hits a billion, I'm done being a humble F&F stan. I'll just be putting anybody who whines about this franchise on blast.

I wonder how it feels to have his kind of family. I can imagine my father terrorizing everyone on the road, driving furiously at 30km/h.

Brotherhood (2011)

What a film. I never knew tobi bakre could act so well. So this bitch i was fùcking without condom sent me this action packed naija thriller to kill boredom. So i decided to take a look and from looking i got engrossed. What happened was that i took me two weeks to properly digest the movie in my stomach. It was fiery, explosive. As far as am concerned, its a trailblazer for future films of similar genres. But it has it flaws. In one scene, an unarmed security man picked a gun and shot. Where did he get his training from? How did akin survived and escaped? This and many more are questions that demands answers

🤣..I know that feeling, the memory card is dead and gone, and with it, all your movies. After mine dealt with me, I've never trusted memory cards with my movies. Next time get a 500HDD and stockpile your movies on it, it's way safer than memory cards.

Searching (2018) : 8.5/10

I saw the trailer of “missing” at the movies in Dec last year, I remember being awestruck at the similarity with “searching” , turns out, it is the same producer, anyways I made a promise to myself to watch it whenever it premieres, but I’ve been busy. Netflix did me a solid by adding it, to their list of movies.

In order to watch “missing”, I decided to rewatch “searching”, and I was reminded why, it was one of the best movies I watched in 2018. I was still impressed with the whole third party view thing, they did with the computers and cameras. I love the storytelling and the slow buildup. Even though I knew “whodunit”, I still liked the unraveling.

Love this movie. Definitely one of my top 50 thrillers.

Time to watch “missing”……..

It has nothing to do with being shallow minded. For me, I don't joke with my cinematography as regards movies, and we all know there's no way a movie with 80s cinematography would remotely match what we have now.

So for me, once the cinematography is not up to my taste, i loose interest in the movie, no matter how great the plot is.

Guy Ritchie's The Covenant .....7.5/10

Premium action movie with all the right ingredients and fight-piece. Jake Gylenhaal is a good actor... I feel he should be bigger than his current trajectory.
Prolly my next best movie from Guy Ritchie's staple after "The Man From U.N.C.L.E."

Funny how most people seem to miss "Homelander" himself.
You need to see Love and other drugs. Jake was in it alongside Anne Hathaway. I lost my virginity watching both of them make love in the nude

The Mother-

Maybe because I am one myself, but this movie resonated so deeply within me. J'Lo's performance was hard, dark and gritty. One of the best I've seen from her in her career, IMO. The story and performance from the lead act completely worked for me, so I am giving this movie two thumbs up.
