I quite agree with the security agencies. Lives of stakeholders must be protected against nitwits who attack anyone with opinions contrary to theirs.

An old man was beaten and dragged on the ground right within court premises because of his opinion, our courts and security agencies shouldn't allow that to continue.

I hope you know that these nitwit includes you

Since we don't have the so called jammers is it not safer to ban mobile gadgets in d first place?

jmoore:
Nigerian security agencies are very dumb.

You don't need to ban phones because you think one can use a phone to activate a bomb. You can't guarantee that you can prevent everyone from smuggling a phone into the court.

There equipments that can jam signals and make mobile devices not to communicate, cellphone jammers makes it impossible to detonate a bomb using a mobile phone.

is there any judge that him and his family is not known? I'm the whole world I had never seen a court that ban the use of phones.
They are just trying to do something that there won't be any evidence to whole them?
Tribunal is not the final Court, so if you want to appeal the tribunal judgment, how can you do that?

APC lead commentator on NL.

You must agree with the judges on secrecy. Nigeria under APC is a secret society where APC subverts the will of the electorate; after APC had over the years, in preparation for the 2023 presidential election, appointed APC court judges to the upper courts; appointed APC loyalists to head security agencies - after APC reduced Nigeria to become the POVERTY CAPITAL of the world and knew it would not win presidential election again.

The embarrassing show of shame by the uncouth mob of Mr Obi attacking the National Chairman of Labour Party, Pa Lamidi Apapa was a serious indictment on the security agencies.

The Intel failed, security officers were caught unawares and shown in distress was enough proof that the 'terrorist attack' on the hallowed court ground was pre planned to be recorded and posted online.

Unfortunately, not Pa Lamidi but the judiciary, Judges and court Security agents ended up being distracted and disgraced in the video.
No serious court or security agencies will risk a repeat of such security breach.

even your brain is free no wonder you are not using it. Can you mention one court in the world that ever stop the use of phones in a court sitting?
Re: Security Agencies Advised Us To Ban smartphones - Tribunal by simplesearch: 2:23pm On May 23, 2023
Two heavy weight political parties with massive support, said they want the Tribunal proceedings aired live for everyone interested to follow up, the Tribunal said 'no', which is in consonant with the wish of only one of the party involved. So In tribunal mathematics, one political party interest is greater than that of two.
But here we have security agencies who have no direct interest in the proceedings or outcome of the Tribunal advising them to go clandestine, as if it was a secret society meeting and they'll most likely oblige. Since when has phone become an instrument of injustice capable of affecting the pronouncement of a judicial panel? Instead of allowing propaganda and heresay to thrive, why not allow people a first hand information, instead of encouraging a hide and seek situation. We sincerely don't want to make progress in anything as a country!

It's a tribunal....a pseudo court
Even with the absence of observers, the proceedings deserve to be public knowledge wrt the issue being resolved
Why try to make law and the process seem so sacrosanct thereby forcing in a precedent which will be used to discredit in the future

Why did INEC mess up.....?!
Why can't the same court knock them for putting the country in such mess.
They know that the world is watching

Shit always hits the fan

The ā€œChip And Explosives and Setting Ablazeā€ narrative is just an unnecessary exaggeration and blatant lies.

The judge was more worried that people were instantly tweeting the proceedings right there from inside the court.

Thus,, even before they left the court, the people outside had already known what went on inside.

Nigeria's court systems are very weak. Even the Judges are very weak. They lack basic command of their courtrooms.
A judge is supposed to make decisions and stand by them. Most courts worldwide will not allow anyone to come to court and record court proceedings with phone cameras. These judges lack balls.
This is why criminals go to court in Nigeria, and they take over the courts instead of the Judge to be the lord of the court.
What's the point of explaining this to anyone?
You come to court in the US, and the Judge has the final say. He doesn't care about what you think. If you don't like his rulings, then you can appeal later, but while you are in his court, he makes the rules and stand by them with full force.
Ekweremadu's sentencing that went viral, am sure you didn't watch it

You don't need to be in the court to activate a bomb using a chip thou, that will be suicide.

The reasonable thing would be to jam all radio frequencies within the court auditorium
