He really messed up but I wouldn't blame him alone...

I blame all the recently students that migrated few years ago sharing constant contents on how to migrate to the UK

We have Uncle and aunties that hav been living in the UK for 4 decades with British passport... this set of people will never come online to tell Nigerians how to migrate to the UK...

For then to even give Family member links na impossible mission... so I think the blame is on the content creators generally...

But anyway... it's time for other people to look elsewhere if you really wanna migrate with your family...

Thanks for mentioning this. While the guy wasn't smart enough to decipher the motive behind the BBC interview, the UK had been discussing this issue for years and they were simply looking for someone to give them an excuse for their unnecessary ban.

Let's be real, if that route is legal, why is the UK complaining and why are they angry that people are bringing in their family members when they pay 3-5 times more university fees than their own citizens despite coming from 3rd world countries? This isn't about Tiamiyu, we're just too biased to see beyond the facts.

i am igbo, but let us stop blaming the guy based on tribal lines. the truth is we all are to blame for this. Nigerians naturally tend to take things to the extreme. The Indians and Pakistani have been doing this for years and they have been so discrete about it, but Nigerians have been the loudest. Check Instagram posts in the last one and a half years, it is all Nigerians telling the whole world how to Japa, forgetting that you are in a country where they have data and they monitor trends and make analysis. Last year Nigerian had few number of Students amongst the Chinese, Indians and Pakistanis and other Africans, but we had the highest number of dependents. If i was a budget planning analyst for the UK government that alone is cause for concern and even a university student can infer from that graphical analysis that we are gaming the system clearly. So na we cause am don't blame the guy.

The interview did not influence the UK Government's policy. The policy wasn't thought of in a day or spontaneously. It's as a result of certain statistics that the UK govt noticed.
