At least BUA may save you from Dangote. Why should kenya invest in oil. You've had oil since 1950s - and results - POVERTY CAPITAL. I would be excited if it was something else. Those investment have little multiplier.

Good. So despite all these foreign firms you have mentioned that are operating in Nigeria, 7 Out of the best 10 listed companies by assets are still owned by Nigerians with Nigerians having majority shares.

In the oil and gas sector, NNPCL is a big brother there together with shell. NNPCL is currently drilling in the lake chad basin (though not the best of moves at this time).

There is also Seplat owned by Nigerians but employed a white man as CEO.

The biggest gas project in Nigeria (AKK gas pipeline) is currently being constructed by a Nigerian firm as well and totally financed by NNPCL.

So you see, investors can come but not dominate.

Strawman arguments. Top 3 kenya companies - Safaricom, KCB and Equity bank - are owned and run by Kenyans. Kenya economy is as local as it gets. Nearly anything you see in Nairobi is owned by BLACK kenyans.

As for Nigeria - first outside Oil & Gas - It would take a nut case to invest. South Africans have tried with MTN and Shoprite.
