A 72-year-old farmer in Cambodia, Luan Nam has been killed by about 40 crocodiles on Friday, May 26, 2023, after falling into their enclosure on the family’s reptile farm.

He was making an attempt to move a crocodile out of its cage where it laid eggs but the reptile grabbed the stick Nam was using as a goad and pulled him to itself.

Suddenly, about 40 crocodiles swarmed him and tore his body to pieces, making the enclosure filled with blood.

The crocodiles had tore his arm from his body and swallowed it.

The police chief of Siem Reap commune, Mey Savry said, “While he was chasing a crocodile out of an egg-laying cage, the crocodile attacked the stick, causing him to fall into the enclosure.

“Then other crocodiles pounced, attacking him until he was dead.”

The crocodiles were still paddling in the pool after Nam’s body was recovered.

Nam before his death had been the president of the country’s Crocodile Association.

Wild animals are beasts. Even d so-called cross breed dogs aint left out. Owners always confess to them misbehaving after few year of taming. They are good at one thing - TO HUNT

Any animal could be farmed without casualties if the right safety measure is in place and strictly adhered to. A lot of folks farm snakes without problems, zoos do have jaguars and so on

We keep telling them to fear women but they never listen.

Crocodiles are farmed because there is more money in the occupation than rearing poultry, cattle, pigs, etc. We only consume in these parts, we never put our brains to work.

I’m shocked they devoured their breeder. Normally, one can walk into a spacious enclosure while holding food and nothing will happen. Sha, wild animals — something will eventually occur. One should always stay alert. His children will inherit the farm. Rest In Peace.

shocked because they devoured him...why would you be shocked? these are not tamed animals, these are just wild animals that he was keeping encaged and alive by feeding them some chicken here and there....the minute he fell, they pounced on him and devoured him, which is what any normal wild animal would do....and on top of that, he tried to mess with a croc and its eggs, which everyone knows crocs are very dangerous around the area where they lay their eggs.

too many people think they can turn a wild animal like a lion into a sheep/pet, while they fail to realize that, the instinct of a lion would ALWAYS be that of a lion, thus why so many people who raised lion for years get attacked/killed by that same lion (case in point: zoo keeper Swane Van Wyke in South Africa). these are wild animals, and we should NEVER forget it.
