Bongolala - you will never catch up with Kenya - even if you post the most macabre images out of desperation. Get out of witchraft, work hard, study in school and maybe you can start to be taken seriously

Akwa Ibom State without the Federal Government built from start to finish one of the best Airports in Nigeria and a smart airport for that matter. This is incredible.

Akwa Ibom State now has a Maintenance, Repairs and Overhaul hanger at the Victor Attah International Airport, Akwa Ibom State.

It oil producing state..imagine if they kept 30 percent of oil revenues.Nigeria should allow oil producing states to keep large share of oil proceeds....they suffer most from oil pollution. In Kenya you keep 30 percent as local community....Nigeria the best they do is 13 percent. There are State in Nigeria that are incredibly blessed and should look like Dubai. What happens crooks in Abuja takes everything..local community sabotage oil and pipelines..production reduces..it race to bottom.Nigeria oil producing states should keep 30 to 50 percent of oil proceeds..they will guard it..they won't sabotage it.

Good. Ultimately the money stay in Nigeria. You move oil states instead of lagos. You go there as Nigerian.Oil productions increase..money flow..no sabotage. You move akwa ibom or whatever oil rich state as Nigerian..they may become richer but they will take care of cow...so everyone milk it.If you take oil money to Abuja n share to everyone..why would they not sabotage pipelines

u agree to what? Even if the 9 oil producing states get 30%, it'll never be enough for some. Some states are doing wonders with their 13%, some aren't.

Don't forget that it's just a derivative from FAAC aside the allocations they get every month. Not minding that they have NDDC, created & funded by fed govt until that body became a cankerworm of corruption.

Nigeria does not operate like the UAE where Emirates own the oil found in their Emirates or each Emirates operate like a country on its own and not like a sub-nation.

And Nigeria does not operate like Kenya too, we don't prioritize some states above others here.

You have a point too. Although what rvp2018 is asking for is what many have clamoured for in Nigeria with the famous term "Restructuring".

The problem like you highlighted is corruption. The fear of leaving the oil wealth in the hands of corrupt Niger Delta Governors. I still believe something at the middle of both positions can be worked out which would be better than just the 13% derivatives.

Idiot nature left oil under their feet.Give them 30 percent.13 percent is peanuts. They will sabotage oil production.

Foolish talk, and so what?

If they are corrupt we have to be careful with giving them the oil or above 13% because at the moment the Federal Government is usually the center of concentration of Nigerians than their state Governors and state Senate or local Governments.

If we must increase their share from 13%, then we must create a framework to make all Governors more accountable.

So I agree with you, that we must increase their share but we must create the framework.

all states receive allocations from federal account each month, including the 9 oil producing states. After that, the 9 oil producing states receive 13% of profits made from oil for that month, this run into billions of naira monthly, after the billions they got from FAAC.

How certain are u that they won't mismanage 30% when given to them? And if u're a Nigerian from let's say ebonyi state, would u want the government to reduce ur allocation simply because they want to increase derivatives?

The "many" that clamoured for 30% derivatives in restructuring are the leaders from Niger delta, no one else. Don't forget that most of these oil producing states don't even invest in the production of oil & gas, they didnt even put a dime in it, they just want 30% of it when they're not into it despite the fact that the FG is the one bearing every risks pertaining the oil over there.

The allocation thing is a model I'm not totally comfortable with. But I can't complain much now cos I can hardly think of a way out at the moment.

When Kano grew their Groundnut business themselves in those days (1960's), they had the incentive to invest in the business themselves because they received the proceeds and not the Nigerian republic.

However, I'm not naive to compare Groundnut Pyramids to Crude Oil. So I get your point as well.

And that’s what democracy is for, let the people choose and suffer the consequences.

If they elected an idiot that squandered the resources away, then they only have themselves to blame and will be “wiser” in the next election cycle and demand more accountability when they see their neighbours doing better than them.

Look ehn, Nigeria state government are not responsible because they can always shift the blame of ineptitude to the FG.

Look at the VAT model, the VAT generated from alcohol sale is taken by the FG and shared among the state, but some northern state go after Business that deals in Alcoholic product and destroys it.

But they still benefit from the VAT of alcohol sales from other states, let them be responsible for their action.

Fine, you consider a product to be harm? Then you’ll not benefit from taxes arising from that product.
