In recent years Mercedes has rounded out its design language with pebble-like obscurity. The new 2024 BMW 5 Series and Mercedes E-Class are two examples of how BMW has been pursuing bigger, bolder looks concurrently.

E-Class was the first to be unveiled this year, and it resembles the E-Class it replaces quite closely, albeit with a smoother design, new headlights, new taillights, and an interior that is even more tech-focused. BMW being the second to unveil the 2024 BMW 5 Series is surprisingly radical in the nicest conceivable way.

The new 5 Series has a sleek, athletic, and futuristic appearance. Although its kidney grille is still large, other recent models from the same manufacturer look much bigger in comparison. The 5 Series appears exciting and edgy in contrast to the E-Class, which has a single grille that is particularly characteristic of Mercedes, the Mercedes is dapper, chic, and subtle.

Interestingly, the outlines of the two cars are quite similar. Both have soft shoulder lines, aggressive A and C pillars, and low rooflines. Once more, the Mercedes is slick and understated, appearing to be a high-end executive vehicle. While the 5 Series is more aggressive, sportier, and sharper.

These days alot of people seem to agree that Mercedes doesn't always produce the most attractive rear ends. They all appear dejected and slack, as though they are melting. The two tips in each of the taillights of the new E-Class point downward, continuing a pattern that is made worse by the triangle-shaped LED lighting components within. However, the Bimmer's horizontal, narrow, dual-LED design is sleek, modern, and high-tech looking.

Real wood, real leather, and real metal are just a few of the various elements used in the construction of the 5 Series. While the Mercedes E-Class has great materials, its Hyperscreen, which is simply jargon for a lot of black piano black plastic, dominates the design.

In conclusion
We think that the better looking of the two is simply down to personal preference and whose fanboy is giving their opinion.

The BMW appears to have a sleeker body but I'll go with the Merc

None! They are behaving like their asian counterparts. Too flashy... Benz especially has lost its majestic design.
