Nigeria economy after current devaluation is 3 rd largest in Africa after South Africa and Egypt . Painful but necessary thing. Buhari wasted 8 golden years doing absolutely nothing.😒 |

Kazikazi:Your country is a joke citizens cant afford to buy houses. Look at this estate that is empty after years. In Kenya such an estate would have been fully bought in weeks. Its only 10m. The american guys is just giving his honest opinion after staying in dar for weeks and getting his shoes filled with dirt all the time. You have no widespread development in tanzania instead everywhere is uniformly undeveloped. Kenya has countless areas with truly european/american level of development...mostly the surburbs of major cities are western level. The foreigners are just being honest. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aRJxS74RPjU |

EKONGKING:Why are u saying painful? If your currency was not floated,it was hard to know the real value of your GDP I think you should rejoice,at least you will know your true GDP figures. |

The market willd devalue it if it's been freely floated. Nigeria GDP should be somewhere 250B.

|

Ruto is already a roaring success 8 months only. Agriculture: " In keeping with our commitments in the agricultural sector, we have registered 5 million farmers nationwide. These farmers immediately became eligible to receive subsidised fertiliser, and those who stepped forward received their full fertiliser requirement unlike in past seasons when the allocations were rationed. As a result of these measures, Kenyan farmers have been able to plant 200,000 additional acres of food this year and used 2 million more kilogrammes of seed." Hustler Fund: "The total number of Hustler Fund digital transactions now stands at 42.5 million through which 20.2 million Kenyans have accessed nearly KSh30 billion, and repaid KSh19.7 billion, with 7 million being repeat customers. Not a single shilling has been stolen through corruption, and borrowers do not need to know anyone, bribe any official or go through complex bureaucratic procedures to access the Hustler Fund. They only need a device, a little airtime and a few minutes, and they are able to get money wherever they are." Hired 35,000 more teachers " We have also employed 35,000 teachers in a historic and unprecedented drive to improve the national teacher:pupil ratio and enhance performance. Additionally, we are re-designing the competence-based education curriculum to make it responsive to our education needs at this point of our social, cultural and economic development. Finally, the National Open University will obtain its charter in the course of this month and as we speak, courses are being uploaded for commissioning." Housing Fund that will make slums disappear - 1 million house to be constructed by creating millions jobs " Our vision for the Affordable Housing Programme is premised on the economic objective of creating a million direct and indirect employment opportunities throughout every value chain in the housing development ecosystem. A single housing unit is capable of employing 3-5 workers directly, and an additional 8 workers indirectly, in the manufacturing of construction products, transport and logistics." Okadas “I HAVE good news for my boda boda friends. Beginning September, you will access motorcycles that don’t use fuel; they will instead be charged using electricity.” Health care - 100,000 community health promoters to be hired " We have collaborated with county governments to recruit community health promoters (CHP) throughout the country in such numbers as will make available one promoter for every 100 households. This means that each promoter will be tasked with visiting Kenyans at their homes to determine whether any conditions need to be managed through healthier lifestyle or basic medical attention. They will also be tasked with enabling patients with chronic conditions manage their medication, diet and general well-being in a manner that makes hospitalisation unnecessary. Finally, the promoters will facilitate early detection of conditions for referral to comprehensive attention in the spirit of effective healthcare management." All 7,000 gov service to be digitized - in 8 months - 5,000 done in six month!!! "Since the advent of e-Citizen, government gradually increased the number of services available on the platform to 391. The rate of increase of on-boarded services is now shifting to a new radical trajectory. Today, 3,570 services have been onboarded, and we expect 5,000 services to be online by the end of this month. Our ambition is to offer every government service on the e-Citizen platform by the end of 2023." chrisooblog: |

Salaries delayed one 1 week in just one month of April because Ruto administration is refusing to borrow like a drunken sailor we had. Or PRINT MONEY LIKE BUHARI - which has caused inflation in Nigeria (now Naira is 650 to a dollar :: - PAYING THE PRICE) If Nigeria is to change - you need to execute PAINFUL PAINFUL reforms. Already you petrol prices have gone up from 180 Naira to now 600 NAIRA. Now that is THE PAIN to move from a Zoo to functional country. If TINUBU is half as serious as Ruto there will be a lot of painful reforms that will be required to fix the ZOO!!!!!! Almost every Nigeria has made illegal electricity connection - you MORONS in the ZOO expect somehow the electricity company will RUN on AIR? chrisooblog: |

Mkenya2019:Nigeria have more household paying electricity bill than Kenya. Electricity company in Nigeria makes more money than Kenya. There are more metered household in Nigeria than Kenya. Nigeria consume more electricity than Kenya. Nigeria Generate more electricity than Kenya. These are not opinions, there are FACTS!! |

Subsaharan:Instead of devaluing outrightly, I think they should find a way to make the black market fall instead. At the end, we may have it settle between 500-600 naira. |
| Re: Kenyans Are Far Behind Nigerians In Every Aspect – Fani-Kayode by Subsaharan: 3:33pm On Jun 01, 2023 |
GeneralDae:It's the official rate that would come closer to the black market rate, not the other way around. That's the only way to make the rates converge. They could try to attract Dollars into the economy to reduce demand but for that to happen, a lot of reforms need to be implemented. Truth is if the currency is around to float, it's the market that would decide what the rates would be. Not the CBN governor or the president. |
| Re: Kenyans Are Far Behind Nigerians In Every Aspect – Fani-Kayode by GeneralDae: 4:05pm On Jun 01, 2023 |
Subsaharan:After all said and done the exchange rate (without subsidy) would still settle between 500-600 naira (or even better with some reforms), which is just at the middle between 460 and 700 naira. |

| Re: Kenyans Are Far Behind Nigerians In Every Aspect – Fani-Kayode by Subsaharan: 4:25pm On Jun 01, 2023 |
GeneralDae:We'll see what will happen with time. The states especially would breathe a sigh of relief. They were really struggling to meet their debt obligations, pay salaries on time, and implement their budget. With the subsidy gone, that would mean they get to share an extra N400bn which would mean a lot to the new admins, civil servants and pensioners in particular who have had their salaries delayed or not been paid at all sometimes running Into months. |
| Re: Kenyans Are Far Behind Nigerians In Every Aspect – Fani-Kayode by rvp20182: 4:50pm On Jun 01, 2023 |
You mean 4 to 8 trillion so each states will get additional 100 to 200B.The stupid subsidy was 12 billion dollars. This will huge boost for them. Now give each state power to fix electricity challenges. Subsaharan: |
