LagosFirstSon:You can fool yourself but not anyone else......this noise by NLC is all about minimum wage increase, that's the end game and everyone can see through them......I then wonder why I should bother about a strike when I won't benefit from any minimum wage increase.......subsidy should be gone for good |

I see NLC being decimated. They will be rendered powerless if they try messing with Tinubu govt. They will be fragmented d same way ASUU had been wealth with. Tinubu go just break them into NLC and The Concerned Labour Congress of Nigeria. |

LagosFirstSon:What Tinubu did in 2012 is what you’re now doing in 2023. So what’s the difference between the two of you? And point of correction, Tinubu did not remove subsidy, Buhari did. More so, subsidy removal is here to stay. It is an act of law, not act of pronouncements. Get used to it. Tinubu won’t change the law. |

YouandiAllofus:Diesel and kerosene rose from N150 to N909 and N850, that is over 300% increase for over 2 years now.with nothing to show as proceeds from d increase. Is it increase in fuel price dt will now make a difference and stop Nigeria from borrowing |

LegacyB:The problem i have is if tinubu will actually use that money in different sectors like health and education because those areas where poorly funded. So we have to take a look at his budget and see if theres an improvement. |

LagosFirstSon:is it tinubu that removed the subsidy? That is the mistake you people are making. Buhari that removed subsidy did it codedly without informing Nigerians before leaving office. Tinubu only spoke what he met on ground |
| Re: FG Meets NLC On Petrol Subsidy Crisis by sapele914(m): 6:41pm On Jun 04, 2023 |
Blaze14k:Unless you are a certified Almijiri, you should be more interested in your state’s budget, & what your state & Local Government does with their own share of the saved money from subsidy? Because for a fact, I know that sectors like health and education, those areas are poorly funded by your state & Local Government? |
| Re: FG Meets NLC On Petrol Subsidy Crisis by ppogba: 6:42pm On Jun 04, 2023 |
obi58:Shameless indeed. We have a problem and you think embarking on a strike will solve the problem? Perhaps, may be it will the way ASUU strike that kept students at home did. For your information, we are in it today. |

darling2424:To President Tinubu: Mr President, please, for the sake of Nigerians and as Your Representatives are about to meet the NLC, please, let there be seriousness on this Negotiation Table- for this things , especially the Fuel Prices, that have gone up twice and in some cases, thrice the initial Prices 5- days ago. - Ask Labour Leaders for their own Presentation -it should be Written out and work out the reasonable good Wage,e g since the Minimum Wage is 30K,then move it to between 70k and above and avoid unnecessary ding- dong with Labour Leaders. For the cause above ,other things( food, rentage, transportation, School Fees),etc have gone up by adding to the Inflation here! While Nigerians appreciate your listening ears, the Real Workers in Nigeria will appreciate,if this matter is settled ones and for all,so that you will face and focused on other major important things and win More Nigerians to your side! You can't allows distractions now,at this early journey of your Administration. You can call your Negotiation Team to prepare Emergency Bills to the National Assembly ( as a matter of Urgency) to accommodate the New Salary Increases for Nigerian Workers, for sooner than later, the Dangote Refineries will come upstream- so that no Importer will present anything to our Banks on Fuel,so that Nigeria will not go back to Fuel Subsidies again and the Fuel prises will go back to normalcy. By so doing, the Naira Value will be Strong again. Also, remember to repair at least Two(2)of the Refineries before the year 2023 runs out. Find out- why are those Refineries Not Working properly? Are they too Old or Saboteurs at Work? Or Can we consider more Refineries like in Texas( different types- including Modular Refineries! If you need to bring in Experts to Install and Manage both the New and Old Refineries, then go ahead- without wasting time! There should not be Politics or Debate on this! Just move Nigeria forward and Nigerians-will be happy that you came at the right time. God bless Nigeria. |

Blaze14k:Almijiri what concerns the federal Budget with your state budget, or are you not aware that constitutionally we have 3 tiers of government in the Federal Republic of Nigeria? Or Almijiri, you are still viewing Nigeria under colonial & military mentality were the buck lays only on the Commander in Chief, unlike in a democratic dispensation? |

LagosFirstSon:The price of Brent crude oil is 48 cents per litre. Multiply by the current exchange. The subsidized price was 189/litre or so. Which was cheaper to buy then-crude oil or petrol? Does it make sense to you? The protest was in 2012. Most people, including politicians have a poor knowledge of economics. That's why many supported the protest. You remember Tinubu's campaign statement about beans and dodo, employing 50m youths into the armed forces? Yes, also, there was political opportunism. Funny thing, Oshiomole, now a governor realized that not only was there a subsidy, the cost of selling petrol below the cost of acquiring it would be deducted from the money to be paid to the 3 tiers of government, namely federal, state and local government. This year, the government was on the way to spending the equivalent of 2.4% of GDP to subsidize petrol. This was ridiculous. I currently don't have light. Yes, I presently can't afford to buy petrol. How far can 1,100 go? But I know the government made the right call. I also supported GEJ in 2012. https://www.reuters.com/world/africa/nigeria-triple-petrol-prices-after-president-says-subsidy-end-2023-05-31/ |
