Revert to the old price and come to the negotiating table or we go on strike

Bola Tinubu protested against fuel subsidy removal in 2014 during Goodluck Jonathan PDP government. Why go back to his vomit now?

Tinubu must be really stupid to think he can just wake up and take decisions without following due process
Okay

The price of Brent crude oil is 48 cents per litre. Multiply by the current exchange.
The subsidized price was 189/litre or so.
Which was cheaper to buy then-crude oil or petrol? Does it make sense to you?

The protest was in 2012.

Most people, including politicians have a poor knowledge of economics. That's why many supported the protest. You remember Tinubu's campaign statement about beans and dodo, employing 50m youths into the armed forces?

Yes, also, there was political opportunism. Funny thing, Oshiomole, now a governor realized that not only was there a subsidy, the cost of selling petrol below the cost of acquiring it would be deducted from the money to be paid to the 3 tiers of government, namely federal, state and local government.

This year, the government was on the way to spending the equivalent of 2.4% of GDP to subsidize petrol. This was ridiculous.

I currently don't have light. Yes, I presently can't afford to buy petrol. How far can 1,100 go? But I know the government made the right call. I also supported GEJ in 2012.

You sw should stop tagging or attaching we SS to yourselves esp when you're dealing with the SE. Dude, you westerners should stand up and face them yourselves. Stop tagging We SS

Shameless indeed.

We have a problem and you think embarking on a strike will solve the problem?

Perhaps, may be it will the way ASUU strike that kept students at home did.

For your information, we are in it today.
This just shows the depth and level of your thinking. ASUU went on strike because of the decay in the educational sector and failure of government to respect a 9yr agreement till date. Ngige and co subjected students to that not ASUU.

The problem i have is if tinubu will actually use that money in different sectors like health and education because those areas where poorly funded. So we have to take a look at his budget and see if theres an improvement.
I absolutely agree with you on this.

This country belongs to all of us and not BAT alone. BAT is not an Emperor. If Nigerians say no to subsidy removal, then no it shall be.
It's not as simple as that.
The responsibility of Leaders is to have visions and set agenda for the followers to go along with. Any leader who kowtow to followers ceases to be one and is not deserving being a leader. BAT canvassed votes with removal of subsidy as core, he didn't hide it and he won election, why should he not go ahead if he's to be seen as credible

This subsidy issue is very sensitive, there should have been palliative in place first. And yes Labour is part of the problem here, especially when we know this is their normal atililogo dance. Labour was in the country when PIA act was passed they did nothing, they were around when candidates, even their own candidates said he would remove it immediately they did nothing. Now they want to deceive the gullible ones as usual. Same Unions whose corruption level is worse than the government ooooo.
Leave those other issues ..Subsidy must remain
