The Trade Union Congress Of Nigeria ( TUC) has presented a list of demands to the federal government in the aftermath of the removal of fuel subsidy one of which is for the government to increase the minimum wage.

Addressing State house correspondents on Sunday at the end of the meeting between representatives of the federal government and the members of the TUC Union held at the Presidential Villa Abuja, both parties described the meeting as fruitful.

TUC among its demands is asking for a reversal of pump price and a tax break for some workers.

The Federal Government assures that it is also actively engaging with the umbrella union body, the NLC, which had recently announced a nationwide strike starting from Wednesday this week.

The NLC insists that the government must revert to the previous petrol pump price.

Good demands. Good measures should be put in place before the removal of subsidy. Let the rulers subside their allowances and other irrelevant expenditures first. Do Nigeria's rulers really care for her citizens? What a country rule by agberos and touts!!!

At this juncture, these demands especially the pump price reversal is capable of trailing the government to a cross-road

If you have a major infection and there's a general consensus that it is best for you to go through surgery to remove the infection, will the doctor not provide you with anesthesia and other pre-surgery care before the surgery? You will still be provided with after-surgery care for some time. All these is done to help you deal with the pains of the surgery.

Regardless of how necessary and urgent the surgery is, if the proper patient care (before and after) is not administered, you risk unintended consequences that could worsen the patient's condition. No doctor does surgery first and give anesthesia after.

This post is not about surgery!

Damnnn niggar

I pity no Nigerians anymore

Not until we start stepping into the polling unit without sentiment and tribalism

Have been reading some people's comments on nairaland here regarding the removal of subsidy

I can say the tribalism in us is fully out

Imagine this same subsidy removal we all protested against in 2012 is now what some people refer as south east and south south protest in 2023

Tinubu should not be trusted, the way he removed the fuel subsidy heads on shows he was not prepared for leadership and he underrated Nigerian people. We all support subsidy removal on meeting some important and critical criteria. Trust Tinubu or any Nigerian politician at your own risk

Fuel price should be reversed first , then a date should be fixed as to when the subsidy would be removed but before then Government would have rolled out palliatives and made cushion effect.

My Fellow blind brother from the waste will not see this. All they know how to shout is IGBOS IGBOS!!! .. IGBOs has always been their nightmare and will continue to torment their souls till infinity.

What Jonathan and Okonjo IWEALA saw Years ago that made a certain frog eye gathered touts to go and protest at Ojota is now the Fogx eyea eye see am.

That reversal of pump price may not be possible.
It's now glaring for all to see the effects on neighbouring countries so everyone should all bear it.
It's just for a while.
My suggestion though.

He should start by reducing the cost of governance at all levels if he's serious, but it's the usual game of them getting Richer while ordinary Nigerians get poorer.

Your analogy is lame. Wake up to reality..

Thereโ€™s no budget for Fuel subsidy in the 2023 budgets.

To have a meaningful discussion, the government needs to revert to the old price first
