After Lagos Ibadan, highest traffic is on this routes.
The east west should cover, Ota, ore, Benin, asaba, onitcha, nnwi, owerri, aba then PH (this is the second biggest corridor and arguably the most profitable more than Lagos to ibadan). This should be the next priority not the kano - Abuja (but politics and nepotism).

I wonder who proposed PH to Meduigury. It should be put on hold for now.

PH-maiduiguri is just rehabilitation & reconstruction of the cape guage line, it's even a single line and not double tracked, if I'm correct.

As for the coastal rail line ( Lagos-calabar), maybe they'll start that one in the next 50years.😂😂😂

I think Lagos to Kano was said to be the most profitable route in Nigeria in terms of trade.

The eastern route was supposed to be as competitive as Lagos-Kano. Unfortunately because of dilapidated infrastructure and the lack of investment, things have been really bad on that corridor.

That's why I think one of the major achievements of the previous admin was prioritizing security in GoG with led to massive investments in maritime and coastal security equipment.

Nigeria has been delisted from the maritime hotspot red list as a result.

I hope the blue economy of the eastern sector picks up because the major excuse for the lack of investment by FG and the private sector was maritime security. A problem that has been dealt with decisively.

Ghana is economically stronger than ivory coast . I am yet to see any ranking that juxtaposed the two millitary strength . .. Ashantehene ( the Kumasi king power and influence stretch to some part of ivory coast , they are many native twi speaking ethnic group that pays homage directly to the kingdom of ashanti .on the population size , Ghana is slightly bigger too. Ghana can't be Nigeria 37 state. A region in Ghana for instance is bigger than the whole Eastern Nigeria and probably south west too. ( The northern region of Ghana . Remove northern part of Nigeria , and Ghana will be bigger than Nigeria three times or more by land size .

Ivory coast is closer to Ghana just like how Benin republic is closer to Nigeria ,infact some farmers are in Ghana and their farm land is in ivory coast. By tribe , it is just like Yoruba people of benin, we have twi speaking people of ivory coast too which is the most common language in Ghana . The same food , the same culture and the same way of life .

The illegal trade from Benin republic to Nigeria might be more than the legal trading . If you block border , you can't block people who knows their land and all the unauthorized route that leads to both country . They are member of the same family.

Benin republic govt are likely to benefit more from Nigeria subsidy , it I'll force bennenoire to buy from their own petrol station therefore increasing revenue to the pulse of their own govt I think it is a win - win situation for you and Benin republic govt

well, we call Ghana our 37th state not because of sheer size but because of the relationship between us not minding d fact that there are two countries between us, but we still relate with Ghana than the two countries.
