As Era Of Crude Oil Ends & Gas Emerges, Igbos Won't Lose-guard! by SOSinNigeria(op):
Between 1958 till present, a massive 65 years, Niger Delta was plundered of its vast crude oil resources by the rest of Nigeria. They gained absolutely nothing except becoming the world's most polluted region. However, they watched idly as Lagos, Abuja and other parts of Nigeria was developed with money gotten from their region! Other regions of the world with abundant crude oil like the Middle East, Texas and even in other African countries like Angola, Libya and Gabon all experienced massive development.

They were not even given the slightest regard or appreciation by those that reaped where they didn't sow. Today, Warri is almost dead economically. P.H does not even have a single functioning refinery but a gigantic one is being built in Lagos! Virtually all the oil company headquarters are in Lagos, paying huge taxes there and employing Yorubas who are then sent to work in the Niger Delta. While the indigenes were only good for gateman and pipeline security work! Well, it is too late to cry now because the ship has already sailed away.

As gas now emerges as the energy of the present and future, Igbos will never allow their region to be plundered like it happened in Niger Delta. Imo State is the new hub of gas in Nigeria while Anambra, Abia, and Enugu has enormous deposits that will last a lifetime. Already, Shell and Seplat are building the biggest gas projects in Subsaharan Africa in Imo State. Innoson, Africa's most viable indigenous vehicle manufacturer is already producing automobiles that will make use of gas. In other words, the value chain is already being domiciled in-situ.

I like what is happening in Lagos about their so-called protection of indigenes & discrimination of other Nigerians. This people has shown that if the crude oil was in their region, other Nigerians won't have been allowed to benefit from it, the way Niger Delta did. However, now they've started indigenization decree, Igbos will complete it for them. You won't say Igbos don't have the capacity to protect their land and everything in it. At least, you saw how IPOB almost created their own territory, banning Nigerian flags and other institutions of the state. If they could do all that with half support, imagine what the situation will be like with full support.

Also, those that denied their brothers because oil was found in their villages will now understand that nothing lasts forever. The rejected stone is about to become the pillar stone.

It hurts the IGBO haters that the land habours both Crude Oil and the largest GAS Deposits.

I trust IGBO people Sha, any boomboklat that wants to sabotage IGBO economic growth will cry Blood. It's that simple. GAS is the future and IGBO land is the Hub! ..

I'm happy about how we are going after handling our gas ....need the likes of nest oil, n oilserv to go into gas processing

Not only should south east gas should e processed in alaigbo we must make sure we empower our people to own this processing plants

FDI in the oil n gas sectors school be discouraged heavily expect Igbos or people who are ready to live an spend in South east should be allowed to invest this must be done fairly

There is also a need to establish minimum of 15 free trade zones in the south east 3 minimum per state ,gas piped to this zones for each manufacturers to produce their own power with a condition that 30% of power production must go to state Grid ( thank goodness Buhari allows states to produce and distribute power) this would kill 2 birds with one stone ....we can generate 500MW -3000MW with this idea

I can even argue that the oil is the riverine area might have its source rock the hinterland

Some people don't understand the dynamics. Thats why I pray for SE to take advantage of the devolution of power generation and railway creation serious to shape her destiny.
Then SS regions will mainstream fully

Lol, dey there make pant dey wear you.

Igbos are the biggest indigenous players in the oil industry. From oil exploration to exploitation, upstream and downstream, and even services, we are the major players!

As for that piece of paper you're circulating, I've already called the numbers there and lambasted the fools. The fool had to hurriedly end the call😂😂. It started from Twitter and Nigerians are already harrassing the rogues trying to reap where they didn't sow.

You just seem too pained, do you realize that all this pain you are going through is only going through you? When you hate a person or people, you are going through pain each time you see or remember or think about those people, you are not benefiting yourself or anyone with this your hate, you are rather hurting yourself, stop hating, and the worst is that you are calling THOSE you hate haters while you are the one hating, I know that 99•99% of IGBOS don't care or know of anything like you exists, so why keep hurting yourself for nothing, even if all that IGBOS have in Lagos is taken away from them as it was done BEFORE, you can be sure that they will start and buy it from you again. But no one is praying for that, if you can think deeply, you are the type of people that are the real back bone of KANU and IPOB, you are the ones proving him right all the time, just personal advice, accept of you like, it's your life

You seem really pained by this indigene protection law cos you keep creating one thread after the other! Eyahh sorry! You actually called that number to "lambast" them and you take pride in it? Lol..Children full Nairaland sha!

You should be writing like @mrvitalis, but you see what he wrote, there is 90% chance your governors (who you all should be breathing down their necks) who should be the drivers behind this, haven't woken up to this reality and it will end here!

Rubbish as usual.
Dolphin estate, Ebutte meta gas explosion bla bla bla, doesn't mean anything. Those are disaster sites and the state government has the right to seal the properties. Such things happen all over Nigeria.

What won't happen is when primitive bigots come from another state and begin to claim indigenous while discriminating other Nigerians.

Igbos and other Nigerians own thousands of plots and buildings in Lagos, go and revoke them if they borne your papa well.

Foolish noise makers!

Kiddo, I don't give a rat ass with your Lagos. My cousin, a nurse in the United States wanted to buy plots of land in Lagos for a mini estate but I warned her not to try it because of the envious lazy goons. She eventually bought in the East.

Yes, I called those numbers because they're criminals and deserve to be reprimanded seriously.
