Hi a website that is about 2months old with an average traffic of 50+ visits per day spiked to over to 250+ two days ago and 1k yesterday.

The problem is that 78% of this traffic only spends about 30 seconds on the website.

So from the screen shot below where is the majority of the traffic coming from?

Background: the owner of the website is running some Facebook ads and I did some seo stuff .

that's the work of a premium bot. What's the niche of the blog, the targeted audience and the main keyword of the blog?

It is a football prediction website. The main keyword is football

The target is world wide. It is actually a website built with Laravel backend and vue front end. Could this really be a bot?

Most of the traffic came from USA, then Nigeria and Indonesia. If this traffic came from Facebook I would be relaxed. But such traffic coming from Google? That is very unlikely. On 8th June we had about 254 visits and on the Google developer console we got about 9 clicks with 294 impressions. The console have not updated data for yesterday.

So on my apart from the normal meta tags twicking, I automated links addition to the sitemap and pings google once a new prediction is made to the website.

hmm, seeing the pattern, I can even give your the traffic software name. Did you submit your blog to seoclerk? This looks more like their doing. The total visit, impression and average time per visit isn't adding up.

What's the page view VS user engagement VS session start ratio?

I will have to ask the owner of the website this question. I never submitted the website to any 3rd party for traffic or marketing.
