It was the State House of Assembly that actually gave the orders for the suspension when the previous Chairmen could not defend their financial impropriety.

I think the IGP is overstepping his bounds here with that type of order. When has a mere suspicion of violence equate to the shutting down of Government offices? I believe that Muslim IGP is merely acting out a sick northern muslim script against the very wishes of the lovely Christian people of Plateau State. Tinubu needs to boot the guy ASAP.

Nothing stops the Transition Chairmen to also have another location to function officially.

If the Governor of a state can be impeached by the collective votes of the State House of Assembly--what makes you think the ordinary Chairman should not also be accountable to a democratically elected higher power?

Even if the word of the Law is not so currently clear about this--Plateau State as a Federating unit is free to make such laws independently to help check the excess powers of any arm of Government.

In your eyes, sharia law could be legitimate but a democratic elected State house of Assembly making laws and acting out on behalf of the wishes of the people who elected them do not have any powers?

The same way--Man was not created for the Law. The Laws was created for man.

Plateau State is fit to make its own laws to serve the needs of its citizens as they see fit. The IGP with the massive pot belly should concern himself with the pressing affairs of arresting Terrorists....and the same Plateau has seen scores of terrorists victims lately....yet quiet and crickets from the nonsensical IGP. He is only allowing himself to be a too by the Islamic North to interrupt the smooth function of an democratically elected State House of Assembly and the Government of Plateau.

I find it very suspicious this IGP is not active in countering terrorism but active as a busybody in meddling in political matters that do not concern him.

Dude. My entire point was simply the fact that the Plateau House of Assembly being a body of Law makers can make their own laws that fits the needs and sensibilities of the state and its citizens without the need to reference that abomination called the Nigerian constitution.

Don't be a snarky hypocrite with me. I care less that any existing (and recurrently trampled law exists). I care more about the laws that are carefully established in a dynamic context to solve a problem.

And if political precedence can also serve as a guide, this is not the first time such has been done in the state or the country.

Every Plateau state citizen supports the Government and they, the people are the Government. Not what an Islamic abomination called the Nigerian constitution crafted.
