Lol! They’ve started …
The Lagos government says it will demolish 17 “distressed” buildings being used for commercial purposes within the Alaba international market in Ojo LGA of the state.

Gbolahan Oki, general manager of the Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA), announced the planned demolition during an assessment visit to the market, on Friday.

Oki said the visit offered the agency the opportunity to issue final warnings to occupants of the buildings marked for demolition.

The general manager said some of the buildings had been marked with quit notice since 2016, adding that occupants usually harass officials of the agency whenever they want to carry out their duties.

“These buildings marked within this Alaba international market would have been included in the list of 349 distressed buildings earlier published in different national newspapers this year,” he was quoted in a statement by Adetayo Akitoye-Asagba, the agency’s assistant director of public affairs.

“But because the occupants were always harassing our officers, it was impossible to capture the details of the structures and include them in the publication.

“What we have done now is a joint exercise carried out by both the Lagos Task Force officers and the demolition gang of Lagos State Building Control Agency. The buildings will be demolished.

“We know that this area is a commercial centre and one of the busiest markets in Lagos state.

“We cannot fold our arms and allow irregularities to continue to thrive in the market where lives of innocent persons would be put at risk because of the failure of a few sets of individuals who have refused to do the needful.”

In March, the Lagos government released a publication showing the locations of 349 “distressed” buildings in the state.

Quit notice has been served since 2016, watch how some folks will still make it a tribal issue when the demolition starts.

Why not demolish the whole Alaba market and build ultra modern market there?.. That way LASG will have proper control of the market and get monthly revenue from traders paying rent and taxes to Lagos State.

Nobody fights the Igbo and not regret it sooner or later.

We will all be alive, let's see what becomes of Lagos in the next 20 years if it continues being hostile to Igbo people.

The constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria gives equal rights to every Nigerian citizen to live and thrive in any part of the country.
Whenever criminals gets power they use it to oppress, intimidate, harass and punish perceived opponents.

It has started from here sef. We don't even know it's occupants but since it's Alana it must be those from East.

So how did Nigerian Military regret death of 3 million Biafrans

Or how exactly did British regret colonization of Ibo land through war

Mention just one race that has regretted fighting Igbos?? You're still suffering from what happened in civil war as it stands. In as much as I want an Igbo man to rule one day,all that's happening now is cos of the distrust other tribes have towards Igbos. So tell me who has lost the most.

They regretted by making sure no Ibo man attains the number 1 position in the country. Let them keep deluding themselves.

You’re blind to read where it was written that those buildings have been marked for demolition since 2016?
If you’re not comfortable with what the state government is about to do, why not move to your Igbo state and dictate to the government over there.
