These guys and the buyers of the metals need to be sentenced to life imprisonment. This is not just greed, It is plain wickedness.

You need to see the entire Eko Bridge stretch, they've removed almost all the hand rails.

Go to Surulere, almost all the drainage covers at Bode Thomas, Eric Moore have been stolen. Several cars have been involved in accidents because of this.

I guess the iron railings dat is about to fall off from Mile 2 bridge which can be visibly seen when approaching Mile 2 from Suru-Alaba, could also be the hardwork of these miscreants....

I think the Nigeria Police should go further and arrest their prospective buyer.....because when there's no buyer then, no business and when there's no business then, no vandalism

Vandalizing public infrastructure
should be death penalty..

If you don't want to face execution,
don't do it.

For a few thousand naira, vandals will
destroy NEPA infrastructure and put a
whole state in darkness and they will
freely go and sell such items on the open
market.

Laws and punishment need to be strengthened in this country❗️❗️😐😐😐

Although since I was a kid about 3 decades ago I noticed that a lot part of the bridge railings at the fly-over that ends Airport road and links to Apapa-Oworonshoki expressway is missing to this day; but this particular one I can see in the picture; the thief can actually claim that the thing wasn't removed but knocked off by a vehicle in accident.

Cmanforall:

Why did you blur their faces?

kenmaro:
It's surprising! the practice of blurring established criminals face on social media. Are we protecting their identity or what? I suppose that once a criminal has been accused and established, their identity should not be protected so as to deter them from repeating such crime.

naptu2:
Some people are asking why the police hid the suspects' faces. The reason is simply because parading suspects is extremely controversial.

The police parade suspects because they want the public to see the results of their work.

However, the law states that everybody is presumed innocent until they are found guilty by a court. Parading a suspect creates the impression in the minds of the public that the person is guilty. Such a person will face stigmatisation and may even be harmed even if he is later found not guilty by the courts. Therefore, lawyers have often condemned the police for parading suspects before the media.

Last year the Lagos State Government enacted a law that bans the parade of suspects by the police. https://www.nairaland.com/6713970/lagos-bans-media-parading-suspects

The police have been accused of failing to comply with the law.

Now they have found a compromise by taking pictures of the suspects (to show the result of their work) but concealing their faces (in order to comply with the law).
