These are some of the things that's sets Ghana apart from chaotic zoos.

We are so deligent and diplomatic in all our doings so we will continue to be at peace with our close neighbors.

No sensible country closes borders unannounced and still refuse trucks loaded with perishable good to cross?
The worst part is citizens of that country sees nothing wrong with that but rather call it "catching cold"? funny
🤣😂

These are some of the things that make countries in the subregion highly respect Ghana.

And they wonder why Nigeria has little to no influence in the subregion.
Re: Kenyans Are Far Behind Nigerians In Every Aspect – Fani-Kayode by vankelvin:
And we are telling you that was a stupid decision . Only a mega zoo will do that

Do you know the number of trucks that travel from other West African countries to Ghana, Nigeria or any other country?

If your country had no ill intensions why did they not alert countries beyond Benin to seize operations?
You closed your borders just like that when trucks from Ghana and beyond had already set off to Nigeria and vice versa?

Know this and know peace, no sane country does what your country did. If Ghana wants to close borders to any country we will let them know so all trucks coming to Ghana will advise themselves. It's called Diplomacy something your country lacks
GeneralDae:
The question is what is Ghana's business? We did it trying to teach Benin Republic in particular a lesson, we never knew how much Ghanaian economy was dependent on that trade route.

This is why Nigerians were all shocked when we heard the Ghanaian economy is in trouble and your president even spoke about the case in London.

For how much? 3 million dollars shared by 2 countries? Oh please!
We all know those days when Obasanjo (who had the senate in his palms those days) would just donate 40 million dollars at once to Ghana How many times did you hear Nigerians speak about such?
I am sure you are not aware Ghana had once support Nigeria govt by donating relives materia and cash to IDP camp. Ghana is not walkover country for a nigerians . You guys have been schooled so badly for too long . thinking Ghana is small therefore Nigeria must then be like mecca of ecowas .

Well some of you do say you Nigeria csupply Ghana electrity and you will even say it without remorse

because that what the data said, the last time I checked. Talking sense into your leaders head is necessary so they can behave sanely and that's not crying.

Plus causing loss to private businesses will require govt intervention.
Where is the data?

Common sense has eluded them, tuerh
Just40:
It became Ghana's problem the moment you stopped allowing Ghanaian goods in transit from passing.

Explain how the Ghanaian economy is dependent on 50 million dollars trade. 🤣😂 You caused unnecessary losses to companies in Ghana for which political authorities had to take action.

Where did you hear the Ghanaian economy being in trouble again? Play dey your eye top er? 😂🤣

grin That's the surprising thing. The ghanaians here are very funny. If I was in their shoes I would do more than that. Just laugh it off, they've turned to insults. We closed a border between Nigeria and benin and a country three borders away got seriously affected. grin

You call that closed borders?

We all await a time where Ghana will get a President with Koffi Abrefa Bussia's kind of mentality. You close your borders for 1 week we will also close ours for 2 weeks and we shall see who that affects the most

Stop trying hard.
We closed our borders, it affected far away Ghana to the extent that the Ghanaian President had to go to London to speak about it. Whether or not he was reporting Nigeria to the UK, I don't know.
When illiterate you can always know you close your Borders today who is better off Ghana or Nigeria. When you have a nation of illiterate only thing they do is suffering. Benin Republic and Togo there are 2.8 million Nigerian refugees. Only thing Nigerians do is suffer. For my information he went to UK to look for new markets for Ghanaian products. The CD is Rising versus the dollar why the Naira is devaluing on a weekly basis

Let us look before border closure and after whose economy has collapsed more. Before border closure the Naira was 160 versus a dollar today it is 750 . From 30 billion US dollar debt the country is now past 90 billion US dollar debt. Border closure was supposed to benefit Nigeria but Ghana capitalised on the whole thing and look for market abroad. With the border closure Nigeria actually benefited 0 except for debt of the country.

But the closure was the ultimate capitalisation for Benin Republic Togo and Ghana. 90% of Nigeria's petroleum is important 50% of Nigeria's gas is now important because of border closure

Benin republic sacks foreign minister, replaces with a Yoruba speaking Beninoise (from Yoruba origin).

"Key on the agenda of the new foreign minister is to establish strong ties with other West African countries especially Nigeria and Togo".

...Effect of fuel subsidy removal. They had to put a Yoruba man to relate well with Tinubu.

Bullshit . Yoruba are native to Benin republic , they are not foreigner ( a whole port Novo is for them ) that is ajase, the administrative and seat of govt.

Wherever you get you key of agenda is what I don't know , reshuffle of govt can happen anytime. Benin republic is likely to benefit from the subsidy than Nigeria govt , the citizen's will be forced to buy from fuel station instead of black market, therefore increasing tax revenue and increasing job prospects fo the citizen's. It is also to note that Benin republic buys most of her fuel from Algeria .

Talon didn't engaged buhari during the border closure , what give you the idea he will engaged Tinubu now for subsidy removal when his govt is more likely to benefit .

No longer at ease at neighbours’ doorsteps

Our reporters learnt that petroleum products are being sold at CFA700 or CFA 800 in Benin Republic, nearly double the previous price, CFA 450.

The development lends credence to reports that a significant volume of Nigeria’s subsidised petroleum products were being smuggled into other African countries.

The chief executive officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited, Mele Kyari, in a media interview said, “We know how much we supply. There is data on this. Is all of this consumed in the country? The answer is no. The reason is very simple. We have an arbitrage environment. For instance, before this decision we made, fuel sold at N185 in Abuja, but just across your border, there is nowhere you would have prices that are lower than N500 per litre.

“None of the countries around us imports petroleum products, and you can’t do something about it because there is an arbitrage environment we have created. We have 4,500km of land borders and you don’t have all the resources to man them,” he said.
