My IGBO business partner have refused to spend his wealth even after having capital in excess of 200m ! He still drives a Toyota 2005 , and still operate like civil servant. Even inside his duplex he still have an apartment behind he rent out ( he normally complain about tenate disturbing him ) is there a particular time they are tutored to start spending the money. He eat well ,dress ok . his spending habit is strange .like he still uses startime against dstv. Drive a Corolla 2003 instead a 2016 .Uses a 70k techno I stead of iPhone or Samsung and still buy okiraka wear and shoe .

Keep waiting for him to spend extravagantly. You will soon hear how his children study abroad and are set up for life.

Last time I visit his house his bore holes dried up and needs 500k to fix it for months he both water tankers and now get his tank filled by his neighbour. He told me he waiting for the rain that the bore hole will be back .no need to spend 500 just like that.

He pinches himself every time not to be carried away by what he has,and always remember where he comes from. His ways may change when he consolidate himself by having 4 or more properties for letting

He knows and is conscious of the fact at the moment na Hausa and Yoruba dey run Nigeria no b Igbo! So therefore he as an Igbo guy cannot just afford to spend extravagantly. So the one he has, he manages it.

Then again, inflation is biting from all corners.

It's this same mentality my neighbors had and were blasting gen all night. Now they only put on gen for a few hours when there is no light for two consecutive days. When they say live below your means, this is what they mean. I don't get the borehole stuff, but I understand why he uses older cars. I bet he grew up poor or has lived in poverty before, it's difficult for some to just turn off the switch and spend extravagantly even if he is a billionaire, to you 200m might look like a lot, to him, 200m might look like 20m. Like I say now adays, N500 is the new N200.

what would you gain from the answer that you seek? Besides, 200 million isn't much capital for a businessman, most old properties on a full plot (approximately 200feet by 200feet which gives an acre) in Onitsha GRA costs at least a billion naira. Naira does not have much value these days and it's still falling in value due to high inflation and naira devaluation against the dollar and other major world currencies.

Your values will determine your choices. A 2003 Corolla can get him from point A to B which seems to be his priority and not luxury
