In a previous thread, (https://www.nairaland.com/7741889/osun-pilgrims-protest-over-food) Pilgrims that were sponsored by the Osun state Government to Mecca for Hajj were seen complaining about the quality of food they were given. From the video footage, you can see how aggreved they were and they spared no emotions in showing how angry they were.
What a pity.
This is a country where the Tourism industry is practically dead, yet the Nigerian Government Spends Billions of naira every year, EVEN IMMEDIATELY AFTER COVID 19 LOCKDOWN, to send people to Mecca and Isreal.
What a Shame.
Pilgrimage that adds no value to Nigeria is so important to our government that even when the Banks stoped giveing Dollars to importers, they were still giving dollars to pilgrims and even subsidizing the dollar rate for them.

Can anybody tell me why government of this country should be spending money on sending people to Isreal and Saudi Arabia?

God has been totally useless to this country. There is no god so why waste money on sending people to mecca or Israel?
It is same religious people stealing public funds and being bigots.
Even if there is a god. What makes the god of Isreal or mecca better than our idols here?

Thank God for Nigeria. If not for God, Nigeria will not be. Sending people to visit other countries is good in a sense. Your idols have been useless for centuries, they only do bad things allegedly.
