somehow:
How can your free throw % be 38%, yet want to qualify?
These guys must be playing some good defence cus their shooting is quite poor...

Big win regardless..
On a normal day, we supposed use Guinea to wipe the floor

The point ranking system for FIBA basketball is frustrating honestly.. 2 points for a win, 1 point for a loss... It creates room for all possibilities...

I watched part to the game, their shooting was so poor that it even showed in their FT.

Normal normal, Guinea should be trailing Nigeria with like 40+ points and never to even win any quarter.

Very frustrating.

I was expecting something like 3 points for a win.

So the only reward for a win is a point?

Today is D-Day!

Based on the ranking, we are level on points with Cape Verde and have better points difference, but they are ahead of us based on head to head rule. Angola have already qualified and Guinea are already eliminated..
We play Angola, Cape Verde play Guinea..
To qualify: We must beat Angola and Guinea must beat Cape Verde.. also we must hope Tunisia don't beat DR Congo or at least win by a small margin...

All in all, our fate isn't in our hands today...

Modified: Cape Verde are playing Ivory coast and not Guinea... Ivory coast already qualified and are most likely fielding a weaker team...

Yea. The first thing though is that we must win. Nothing else matters if we don't.

Angola and Ivory coast already qualified even before yesterday's games, yet they won and fielded strong players.

I think they're both trying to top the group for some reasons

I don't see us beating Angola (me being objective). The roaster not up to standard.

Cape verde may likely clinch the ticket.

We really messed up in the first round of the second window.. not just with the selection, but also the tactics.. spamming threes all the time and nor defending the rim enough... NBA style basketball.. SMH..

Yea. Saw the news a while back

Rooting for her. Being a former Tigress she definitely understands the peculiarities of working with Nigeria (hope things get better). I'm more elated cause her primary responsibility as assistant coach was recruiting, will see how that works in convincing folks abroad to wear the green and white.

..............yes i have, just glad that part has been sorted now, next is camping...I heard Senegal is already in camp preparing, also heard they brought Astou Traore back, they are very desperate, we have a target behind our back, however, i feel we a still the best team in Africa, although preparation has to be right. I believe we can deliver...

I hope that she (and the NBBF) will be able to convince some of the veterans like Ezinne Kalu, Akhator, Promise and Elonu to return to the team.. The WNBA season is on, so any chance of Elizabeth Williams returning is slim..

It was just yesterday self that the NBBF released the fixtures of the AfroCan.. No news about the rooster..

Our league is in comatose, so in all honesty, I'm not expecting much from the AfroCan team

They don't need convincing. Lol

The girls are literally waiting for camp to open. Apart from Akhator who just recently put to bed, every member of the program do not need convincing.

Maybe new intakes, but being a part of the roster is a win win for the girls.

Don't think any WNBA player will feature as all of them are active in the roster. They will probably be available when we hopefully qualify for that Olympics playoffs

There's a roster already. It's mostly guys who prosecuted the final part of our world cup qualifiers. Only four in the roster was replaced.

The girls meet up regularly and the Digress ladies even organised a party this weekend in Atlanta. I think they'll probably have a camp in the US soon, funds may be an issue sha cause the NBBF is broke. The advantage is the girls know how to self organise so won't be an issue.

...Ezinne will most likely be back, she is a dedicated person, the core off the team will be back, there is a sisterhood in there..it more like an opportunity for them to catch up with each other, hence why they always seem to rise above what the NBBF throws at them. Akhator just gave birth, so do not expect her.

...Believe the likes of Onyekwere might just have made their debut if not for WNBA on at the moment, so i believe if we qualify for the OQT(olympics qualifying tournament), she might just be on the roaster, i do not know if Elizebeth Williams has been cleared by FIBA yet.
