Yorubas were opposing and challenging a Ghanaian traditional ruler and his people's agreement on not to trade cocoa to the Europeans. They sabotaged the Ghanaians people's trade embargo.
In today's language, they were dragging authority with Ghanaians when they are just strangers. They were not respecting their hosts. This was as far back as 1930s. The resentment progressed as some of them where equally found out to be involved in smuggling of diamonds and other crimes.
