The Ugly Trend And Concequences Of Yoruba Youths Migration by mokwechineme(op): 7:35pm On Jul 04, 2023
Its no longer news that southwest is becoming the poverty capital of the nation. If u go beyond the capital and into the villages of Ogun, Ondo, Osun and most especially Kwara and Ekiti, you will shed tears for the inhabitants of these areas. There u see people eating poverty as food. The worst part is there are very low remittances from family members who have managed to travel outside these areas.
A typical yoruba youth once he managed to leave these areas finds it difficult connecting back to his root. You have lots and lots of these villagers scavenging for food and there is very little to scavenge because the leadership has very minimal presence outside the state capitals

A young yoruba fron Ogun, Ondo etc will arrive Lagos and automatically becomes a Lagos indigene abandoning his root and people back home.

There should be awareness among Yoruba youths to arresting this very ugly trend because parents after struggling to train their kids will be left abandoned by their children

I respect the northerners for this...they have shame.., but these guys like LeoDeking, helniues, Typing, SangoOluokosoba...and others from the dusty hitherland of SW have no single shame.

You can never see a northerner from Nasarawa claiming FCT...no one.

See them with their rickety buses heading to Lagos...they are not going back...they will populate Mushin, Agege, Dopemu, Iju, Iyanu paja..

You don’t even have any iota of shame! Same dusty hitherland that your kinsmen flee to on daily basis!

Oh! You don’t know their is one of your brothers residing and selling Egusi, Ugu, drugs or spare part In those places?

Do you know why they fled? Because it’s better than the dungeon they were raised.

You’re right, abroad is not as easy as many thinks. The endless bills and the quest for greatness is time and energy consuming. Finally when you feel you have accomplished something you’re already deep in the system with lot of debt, and sometimes when you send something home for someone to do something in your behalf they won’t do it right or they won’t do it at all.

The challenges abroad alone is enough. Talk about coming back to invest or settle down then you’ll see Nnamdi with no mercy coming to rob and kill your family just to cat away with everything you have go back to Anambra and claim to be business man from Lagos. He might even have a clothe shop somewhere in town where he stocks the shop with the proceeds of robbery

It’s a really sad situation

Finally what you call poverty in SW is not really poverty, it’s contentment, every Yoruba family teaches their children to be contented and live modest life that doesn’t say you won’t see a few abandon that principle got frustrated and go into crime. You might think people who live in these brown roofed property are poor. Not really some of them are just content and have chosen modest part of life.

and these people u claim to be selling ugu, egusi at the time of celebration will travel back home. This simply means, they come to southwest and make money and go back home to enjoy the money with their people back home

Lagos built by Igbo’s ? You lots chestbeat a lot?

What have you built before that you talking about building? The whole of SE is a dungeon and you here talking about building something across the Niger?

What’s in the SE that you can boast of? Aba and Onitsha market? What happens in the South East outside civil service?

Build Lagos my foot. Invest same energy to build Anambra and Abia.

Aba and Onitsha is built already from the ashes of the civil war..

Now, no city or town in SW can be compared to both.

For Igbos building Lagos with other tribes....Check the areas you develop Agege, Mushin, iju, Iyana woro, Ipaja...Dopemu,,they are like you cities in the hitherland where you hate to call home, but claiming Lagos.. cheesy

You cannot even compare any SE states to Oyo!

You shared picture of Aba? Can you share the picture of old Aba road and Ngwa? Whats left outside Aba, wildlife?

I have been to the whole state in your region, I am not in the class of people you will fumble too. Absolutely NOTHING happens in the SE outside hero beer.

Aba? 🤣🤣🤣. Aba that cannot match Alimosho Local Goverment Area in Lagos.

Pepper and tomato people.

They have joined the northerners in travelling in trucks loaded with goat to visit their brown roof villages.

Face facts? I asked you, what happens in the South East? Only the civil service still makes the region habitable.

Tell me! What goes on there? Those minor private investment-banks and telecoms?

You cannot polish wood and make it look like gold.

Let me reinstate my earlier fact, in all the corners of the South West, their is an Igbo man hustling there, never wanting to return home.

So no bills in Nigeria?

Why do you send money to untested Ppl
Why don't you send in pieces and monitor with third party and 4th party
?

The challenges abroad alone is enough. Talk about coming back to invest or settle down then you’ll see Nnamdi with no mercy coming to rob and kill your family[b]

The reason why you see good houses deep deep inside the villages of Anambra states and other SE states is because of think home spirit of Ndigbo.
