The answer is a resounding No!.


Obi even sacked non Anambra Ibos from the state civil service without an excuse only telling them that they should leave Anambra and go back to their states and that Anambra govt jobs are reserved for Anambraians only.

Some of those sacked arbitrarily by Obi over their ethnicity and states of origin had served over 25ys!

Even those whose appointment was done under old Anambra state were not spared. Obi simply told them to go to their new states.

Reciprocracy was extended by other SE states greeting Obi's insensitive and callous discrimination driven purge of the Anambra state civil service with the then Governor of Abia state sacking all Anambra indigenes in Abia state civil service in return.


To show how callous Obi was, even those who had spent all their lives in Anambra and even had a spouse from the state were not spared but sacked as well.

But this isn't the half of Obi's blatant discriminatory policies as his blatant bigotry extended into the sectarian divide by ensuring only Anambra indigenes of the Catholic faith got appointed into his govt. Anglicans in Anambra felt the brunt of Obi as those set for promotion to Perm Secs or Directors of State commissions were ignored for a Catholic.

Obi also only deployed State funds to only Catholic causes in what can only be described as blind bigotry. Obi also demolished not only mosques but also non Catholic churches in Anambra citing building code violations.

Now let's assume Obi to be a northerner ,his state of Anambra as a northern state and his religion to be Islam but of the most radicalized Salafist sect, and during the last elections he contested and campaigned only in Mosques and was caught on tape telling an Islamic scholar to rally his zealot followers to see the elections as a war between Muslims and Christians,and when he lost woefully, his fanatical supporters who once supported BH were rejecting the election results and demanding for its cancellation and an interim govt
