Hello everyone,

Some of you may remember when I posted here in May. I mentioned that I had robust travel history (I’ve been to over 20 countries but my visa application was denied)

Update on my case: so I appealed the visa denial that I got in May and I just received my PPR

I submitted along with my parents and my father received his PPR last month… his passport has been stamped with a 10 year visa (he renewed his passport before submitting)

Still waiting for an update on my mom’s case.

I got the idea to appeal from this page. Thank you everyone

Congratulations. I remember your case. Good one. Enjoy your trip.

Hi
Depending on the airline, how about booking with them directly. Booking.com is for hotels / apartments etc.

It’s for flight too

I just noticed that booking Qatar Airways with waķa now is cheaper than booking directly from Qatar Airways app!
I thought booking from the airline directly is usually cheaper?

Have you looked at the ticket composition?
- 2 check-in bags vs 1
- stop over/layover
- Refundable/Non-refundable
- Same date?

This is what I sent

Dear VO
My name is ……… , with date of birth…… and passport number ……. , currently residing at…….., Nigeria.

I am writing this appeal with a heavy heart as I find myself caught in an overwhelming state. I wish to appeal the recent rejection of my tourist visa application which I received on the 4th of May 2023 after waiting for over 11 months for a decision.

To begin, let me emphasize that my intentions of visiting Canada are solely for the purpose of visiting my brother who is currently in Canada for the purpose of studies. My stay will be short as I intend to immediately return to my Husband and 8 month old daughter whom will not be traveling with me. (I made sure to add this, to show them that I have strong family ties in Nigeria)

Regrettably, my wish to visit my brother whom I have not seen in over 18 months has been put on hold as my visa application was rejected. I submitted my application with the utmost sincerity, ensuring that every document and requirement was fulfilled to the best of my ability.

My Canada tourist visa refusal letter was received via the IRCC website stating [I am not satisfied that you have truthfully answered all questions in the documents you have submitted in support of your application, as required by subsection 16(1) of the IRPA. Specifically, I am not satisfied that the following information is truthful: Your declared history of previously refused visa application(s) to Canada or any other country]. I have to make an appeal against this justification as I do not have any history of visa rejection which is what I truthfully declared in my application.

I have applied for over 10 visas in the last 15- 20 years and I’ve been to over 20 countries. I have never overstayed in any country. The timeline of all my applications and travels are noted down below, including the reason for travel and duration of stay.

(I went on to list my most recent travels and I attached visas issued by other countries)

Gracias

Good day Everyone, my husband and I applied for a tourist visa in March 2020 and June 2023 we received a message to send our passport which we did . Only to get a message yesterday stating that our visa has been denied because there is a debt claim on our application more like our application fee was revoked. We didn't do anything of such . I have mailed the debt claim department asking how that is possible. Has anyone experienced that? How do you solve it.
I will equally like to appeal the decision ( propably repay the fee if they still insist because our passport is already with them.

FYI - OTAs like wakanow provide these cheaper fares by passing on a % of the discounts they get from the airlines to their customers. This allows them retain customers (who are primarily price driven) and thus helps then retain these airline discounts.

Now these discounts from my experience are usually under 20k naira and UNLESS you are certain of your travel dates i.e. no date changes etc, I will always advise booking directly with the airline to provide you with additional protection irrespective of ticket rules.

I've had to change tickets recently and the ticket I bought through wakanow (and saved 18k in March) ended up costing an additional 550k to change due to work pressure I couldn't get out of.

If I had bought that directly through the airline,I would've just asked for a voucher refund (Qatar offers this for non-refundable tickets and gives you an additional 10% value) and gotten a ticket that was 300k saving me money, heartache and unnecessary chasing of customer service folks.

Here is the message received.
How can I appeal? This is so unfair since i know nothing about the claim. I have mailed them though but no response yet.

Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Newbiein2016: 2:20am On Jul 06, 2023
Sounds like a case of chargeback due to the card used to make the visa fee payment.

Did you go through an agent? How was payment of the visa fee done?

If you used an agent or someone else to make payment and have clear documentation on this i.e. emails, chats asking for payment to be made and showing you paying the naira equivalent, I'll suggest maybe including in your webform/email back to them. Due to restrictions in forex amount one can spend by a lot of Nigerian banks in the last few years, a lot of people struggled with making this payment themselves and used agents or friends for this. Downside is one can't be certain if the cards used were not fraudulent or if the people themselves are honest (and not the ones requesting a charge back for this expense).

Goodluck.

Good day house, I want to submit my passport via courier service but I’m a little bit confused about the consent form.
When filling the form, what is supposed to be in those fields I underlined in red, I’m guessing that should be the details of the courier service right or it can be left blank. I don’t want a case where my file would be returned.

Hello house, please help.
My hubby just got this mail. I attached the picture here.
1. Should he just proceed to the CVAC to pickup his passport without booking an appointment?
2. Are we supposed to wait for a follow up mail from IRCC before going?
3. We applied together, submitted together, have been getting all tracking notifications together, but this particular mail, I didnt get it though it was just sent to him today and I can get mine later. What do I do? I'm I to just go and believe mine is also there because we submitted on the same day, same time and got different tracking codes same day in our mail. But this particular mail, I didnt receive it.

When did you submit your passport

Good evening, pls my destination is Edmonton but am having a stopover at Toronto, will like to ask if there is going to be any border check at Toronto be4 heading to Edmonton.pls kindly enlighten.

Of course . But Edmonton has their own international airport, why do you want to spend that sort of money? Plus if you do not have a perfect explanation for those(the stop overs) , it's very likely to raise eyebrows. Not sure of what you'd tell the immigration officers at the airport.

1.) Order GCMS notes to understand
2.) The letter connotes you owe the Canadian government (hence the ordering of the GCMS notes to understand what the challenge is in a way)

My understanding is, you need to submit a new application fee together with a new application and a letter to give a formal explaining as to why the previous happened.

Sending them emails at this point , I'm not sure , but you need to consider what I have said thus.

Good morning guys

Please I need a clarification on this.

I submitted my passport in person in Lagos last month 30th. I got acknowledgement message immediately. Later I got another message stating its on transit to ircc for processing. 3 days after a got a message stating its has been processed in Abuja. This morning I tracked it and it states that its in transit to ircc again .

I'm confused, cos that's the same message I got when I submitted.

Please any one has ideal of what is going on?

Thanks

Ok then, then that's a better bet.
Follow the transcripts of peeps who's travelled there earlier. So as to know what you'd be up against at the airports.
