Nigeria Imports of Footwear, gaiters and the like, parts was US$50.8 Million during 2021, according to the United Nations COMTRADE database on international trade. This works out at half a BILLION United States DOLLARS every decade. So, since independence in 1960, Nigerians have spent nearly 5 billion dollars. On imported shoes. That amount alone could have transformed our health and education sector many times over. It could have boosted the economy many times over had it been spent on locally manufactured footwear. Government is not our only problem. WE THE PEOPLE have serious issues mentally. Keep making Italians rich, while crying poverty. Useless set of people. https://tradingeconomics.com/nigeria/imports/footwear-gaiters-like |

Not only those 5 billions could have been used to develop Nigeria, they went straight into other countries' pockets. |
