Official starting date 2025. Aparently it was alleged that there was a design flaw in the construction of the refinery. That is what you get when you try to be cheap by handing over a sensitive project as such to Indians not even Europeans or Dutch or Americans. |
[/quote Read the story you just quoted and link it to the topic. 1. A company took a loan and paid it back, how does that concern you? Companies do that all the times, every single day. 2. You probably skipped the part that said commercial banks lended money - not the Nigerian government. You guys should do away with your entitlement mentality. Dangote owes you nothing, and if you are putting your hopes of survival on the refinery, its time you start looking elsewhere because to him (and his company) its a business opportunity, not a charity venture. |

the same loan you and I cannot obtain? I think Civic education is more important for Nigerians at this moment and how about the waivers he gets from government above his fellow competitors. I thought you earlier said government didn't lend any money to him. If we keep dragging this thing,ur last card you are going to play is the "AGUMENTUM AD HOMINEN" I'm jealous of him.

|

Thomasankara:Did you attend a school for goodness sake? 1. Name a company in Nigeria that has no access to loans. If you have a company worth N10m, walk into any commercial bank and provide them with solid plan of making money, you wont leave the premises without gurantee of a letter of credit. Talk more of a $19b facility, banks would kill themselves to be a part of that partnership. Do you know what bonds are? Do you even know what a capital/money market is? Stay in your village and let poverty kill you while hating on successful people who dont know about existance. 2. What waiver did he got above his peers? What were the criteria for getting the waiver? Did he fulfil them? 3. The article you quoted mentioned of "loans from domestic banks for local funding and foreign banks for import of equipment" How does this translaate to loan from the Govt.? Is is that the level of education people are getting is seriously eroded or you just happen to be a dunce? |

quite shameful, the same you that you ain't aware that Dangote obtained loan is talking about education. Bail is free in Nigeria right but you and I know that is a facade, for the records I have applied for loan many times and denied and I have brilliant and sustainable ideas.the way you argue make me think you are a Nigerian arguing from the fringes of Eriteria. I'm quite sure you have never applied for a loan before. We are talking about what is obtainable in Nigeria and you are giving a picture of an ideal society, which is on the contrary in Nigeria Raheeqilmaktoom: |

starstaz:That's you people voted out Okonjo and GEJ and vote in Mr Integrity, the Saint. So let's focus on him, his 8 years is enough to give us refinery and he has commissioned one before leaving the office and we were promised to have it's first product this month. Where is the product? Leave Okonjo and GEJ out of this |

Thomasankara:1. Only the un-informed (of which category you clearly belong) would be unaware of Dangote taking a loan to finance his refinery project. He definitely coudnt have financed the project all by himself and its not how such projects work, question and bone of contention is you saying he took loan from govt. and I saying he took from commercial partners - he made mention of it himself during the commissioning, and I didnt just wake up one morning to start learning about Dangote refinery, I have been following the project from public sources for a couple years now. 2. Sorry for your unfortunate experience accessing loans from banks. There's this thing they call credit worthiness - who knows you, in your line of business how big are you, can you do what you said you can do, who will vouch for you, if things dont go as planned - how do you plan to repay and importantly, whats your history regarding loans etc If a dead banker is to ressurect today, he will approve a N1b loan for Dangote (without even understanding all details) before he approves N1m loan for you, he believes that come rain come shine, his money is safer with Dangote than with you. Dangote isnt the reason you are unsuccessful. Work on yourself, your ideas, your brand and social capital. You are getting some financial advise for free here. |
