TemplarLandry:You are incorrect. There are some women who would rather be home as housewives, and shop for their fantasies and live luxurious lives if their husbands can afford the world. Your conclusion that it must be a man's decision to compel the wife to be a housewife is just your level of reasoning. I know women who would do nothing even when given huge capital to start businesses. They just want to be home and stay with the kids. A man should aspire to be so wealthy to the point that his wife finds no reason to lift a pin. |

CuriousStudent:B will always be the best choice of course. I envy my cousin who's a stay-at-home mom. Girl is living the life. Which housewife receives a 700k-1M salary per month? That's some tech-bro salary in a month. Even the so-called career will take about a year of saving their salaries to get her one month upkeep. And she's very smart. Has several lands all over the Island and is even building a house. Housewife pass housewife, abeg. |

Can't you people praise God. Everyday is about man, woman, wife, husband. Just do you ok. Being a housewife is good and being a career woman is also good. Both have its advantages and disadvantages based on the variables and partner involved. Happy Sunday. |

TemplarLandry:Everyone has the right to decide what they want that's preference. Some women love to stay home and raise the kids properly while leaving finance and monetary issues to be handled by their partner, some do it and still work from home and it's their cup of tea. It's very stupid and shallow to say that a house wife is only useful for sex and making babies. Raising kids is a full time job and we wonder most kids aren't functioning properly because u are probably raised by a village house help 24/7 from God knows where. Some don't even have any relationship with their parents but strangers. The greatest contribution to any society is bringing up kids the right way and this can only happen when parents and especially mothers have concrete solid relationships with the kids. Raising a family is more than providing money. Anyone can do that. But not everyone can raise kids to be right with courage, love and respect. Kids are prone to depression lately because of modern standards which debases the family unit and places materialistic values way higher. That u can't or do not conform to raising kids the traditional way doesn't mean the man who does is archaic with a low self esteem like u said. Trying to sound woke without any real substance is lower than the lowest of self worth. U need approval to feel amongst the woke and modern lifestyle while putting ur family in danger as a unit. A woman can work and be a housewife though not full term. She can be full term when the kids are still very little and get back to working after they must have grown to a certain stage. Life is a lot more fluid now. A lot of people do work from home so ur contribution is even very stupid. Being a housewife doesn't make any woman lesser than another person. It takes a lot to be a mother not just conception and giving birth. U don't go insulting others because they chose to follow their own path? Walk urs and face front! |

TemplarLandry:Your last line ruined your comment. Raising responsible kids, if that's achieved through being a housewife, is one of the best contributions to a functional society if not the best. What's the essence of attaining career success and winding up with spoilt and useless kids who themselves end up being useless to the society? Your comment is just your opinion. And you shouldn't try to shove it down other's throats by being overly critical of being a housewife or indirectly insulting those who prefer it. |

If you will like a full house wife let your potential spouse know from the start of the relationship. Not after trapping a career woman in marriage you will start doing like oloriburuku and remember you want full house wife. There are women who do not mind and would love to be but forcing a woman who spent years in school being trained by her parents and has an ambition to progress in her career or business to be a full time housewife is witch craft. And many do not do it cos they love the woman or cos of kids, they do it for selfish reasons so the woman can be at their mercy and they can treat her like trash knowing she has no stand for herself. Some so called men who force their wives to be full housewives will even deny her and the children money and food cos they have a misunderstanding then you tell me they want it cos of the children. If you want a full housewife, it is not just buying food for the house and assuming she does not need money. She has to have an allowance she gets every month so she does not have to wait on you to buy every of her need plus she also has parents who brought her up and would want to meet their needs too. Savings too dey important cos anything can happen to the man so the family does not suffer cos of that. Treat her so well that she will be one to envy not a nuisance to the society borrowing maggi and money for drugs for her children up and down the street looking haggard cos daddy wa no dey house or is in a bad mood |

There is no correct answer to this. It's all about the priority of the family. The priority could be fame, economic freedom, or family. Most times when an individual is on his/her deathbed, the first two doesn't really matter. |

Women by nature are supposed to be full-time housewives but because of the lazy nature of some men, they now take up the burden of catering financially for the family. |

Merry100:Aside from the political and leadership roles in the bible that we have examined in Deborah, how are the other points you made career-oriented and more important than family? You described a skill set that is demanded of everyone. |
| Re: Can You Be A Full-time Housewife? by Nobody: 3:49pm On Jul 16, 2023 |
UyaiIncomparabl:The thing is that people see housewife as some uneducated woman tying wrapper all through. The housewife of a struggling man will never be the same housewife of a rich man. many housewives are ordering soups from food vendor on Instagram. They will store it in fridge for a week. They will watch Netflix from morning till when school bus brings their children from school. And the idea that not working brings disrespect is wrong . How can the sole reason that a man respects you is that you earn? Thinking you can buy your husband respect by "working" is a wrong foundation. There are many working class ladies whose men steal their money to give their side chick. If a man values and respect you,he does,it he doesn't,then he doesn't. If it didn't dey,it didn't dey |

TemplarLandry:You think a woman staying at home to train and care for her kids and family is adding zero contribution to a functional society? This is how low standards have fallen. The family is the building block of the society and if the family is not well taken care of, there is no functional society in the first place. |

TemplarLandry:Not surprised you are a Yoruba man. A woman who stays at home, manages the family's resources and manages the home is a 'liability'. |
