tbarrister:When your country discovered oil your population was not 200million, have sense Even 1naira was 0.5dollars.. It was never about the population, |

PapaNnamdi:It was not 200m but it is above 200m now. You have no basic knowledge in economics if you don't know how uncontrolled population growth can destroy the economy in the long run . Why do you think countries like qatar, kuwait, Venezuela, Libya can subside their fuel so low and we can't? Because they have a small population compared to ours and so their fuel consumption/subsidy will be lower. How can we compare a country taking care of 18m people with that taking care of 200m if given same resources. |

nicedayontop:That is not the issue. The issue is the outright lies from the propagandist. Between Libya did not stop Nigeria from refining their own crude. |
| Re: Fact Check: Is Nigeria Selling The Cheapest Petrol In Africa? by a4cube: 11:13am On Jul 21, 2023 |
tbarrister:But when you guys want to justify the high price you will be quick to compare with UK with less than 62m people. |
| Re: Fact Check: Is Nigeria Selling The Cheapest Petrol In Africa? by jmoore(op): 11:18am On Jul 21, 2023 |
tbarrister:If given the same resources? 8 years, billions were spent to revive Nigerian refineries. None of the refinery worked. You guys should stop using population as a coverup for the corrupt leaders. Egypt that is half of Nigerian population generates 59,000 megawatts. If population is a key factor, Nigeria should be generating at least 29,000 megawatts. But Nigeria is struggling to generate 5,000 megawatts. |

| Re: Fact Check: Is Nigeria Selling The Cheapest Petrol In Africa? by PapaNnamdi: 12:23pm On Jul 21, 2023 |
tbarrister:When you had less than 200m population you did not invest in infrastructure The dams the refineries were all your colonial masters brain child, You come here to blame population as the problem limiting development If 1 refinery was built ever 2years from the 70s, the you know how much Nigeria will make selling pms to African countries?? That's just refinery Car assembly plant, phone Assembly plants Woh, you no knw anything Most countries have infrastructure but have no population to man them, Why do they have more infrastructure than population, ? |

tbarrister:Ibori is about to forfeit another 100million pounds, What do you think will happen to that money, Al the abacha refunds, what were they used for These are stolen oil money that would have been put into infrastructure, Those infrastructure would have put Nigerias currency on the map with world powers.. You dey talk say oil money no reach population, What nonsense |
| Re: Fact Check: Is Nigeria Selling The Cheapest Petrol In Africa? by Kukutente23: 12:26pm On Jul 21, 2023 |
nairalanda1:Let me also help you further Nigeria made $45bn from oil revenue alone in 2022 while Libya's total revenue as a country is $28bn. Still Libya is able to fund it's govt and public infrastructure seamlessly while Nigeria is giving excuses why they can't. |
| Re: Fact Check: Is Nigeria Selling The Cheapest Petrol In Africa? by Kukutente23: 12:29pm On Jul 21, 2023 |
PapaNnamdi:Besides, that 200m population is a big lie. We have 200m yet less than 25m people voted in an election with 4 frontline candidates with very high ethno-religious interest? Plssss |

nicedayontop:Is Libya stopping your leaders from refining their God-given crude oil locally? Blame game doesn't solve any problem. |

Kukutente23:I have said it severally, Nigerian population may not be upto 150m. We like padding everything even to our detriment. |
| Re: Fact Check: Is Nigeria Selling The Cheapest Petrol In Africa? by nairalanda1(m): 12:44pm On Jul 21, 2023 |
Kukutente23:Because Libya at the end has 6.8 million people, while we have 220 million people. Some years ago, Pakistan had the same GDP as New Zealand...yet New Zealand is rich because Pakistan has 14 times New Zealand's populaiton Then add the fact that we are as reliant on oil as the Libyans..meaning we are broke...then the looters steal and steal and steal... The above figures show that Nigeria is in a bad state, and that government has failed. |
| Re: Fact Check: Is Nigeria Selling The Cheapest Petrol In Africa? by Kukutente23: 1:10pm On Jul 21, 2023 |
nairalanda1:Your claim is nonsensical because the US, China, India all subsidise their economies and they have bigger population than Libya. China paid $2.2trn as subsidy to refineries in China in 2020 alone. What's your excuse this time around Besides, if you agree that looters are looting and the govt has failed, who should bear responsibility for that? Those in govt or ordinary citizens? |
| Re: Fact Check: Is Nigeria Selling The Cheapest Petrol In Africa? by nairalanda1(m): 1:14pm On Jul 21, 2023 |
Kukutente23:US , China and India all have diversified economies, and higher tax income than Nigeria does. Thus they can subsidize. They also do not subsidise the way we do. As you can see, they pay subsides to the manufacturer, and not end user as it is. |
| Re: Fact Check: Is Nigeria Selling The Cheapest Petrol In Africa? by Kukutente23: 1:20pm On Jul 21, 2023 |
nairalanda1:Nigeria does not pay subsidy to the end user. Nigeria pays subsidy to the importers since we have no manufacturers. This fact falls flat in the face of your earlier claim that it's subsidy that killed our refineries. Why did subsidy not kill China's refineries? Your new excuse is diversified economy. Is Libya's economy diversified. Whose fault is it that Nigeria's tax income is low if not the elites who refuse to pay tax and loot the little that's paid? If US, China and India have a looting elite like ours, they won't be able to pay subsidies and will instead employ propagandists like you to defend them! |

Kukutente23:k. Kukulenta is back! ![]() You should go and meet your friend Tinubu to answer that, since you all were together at Ojota in 2012 Move along now. |
| Re: Fact Check: Is Nigeria Selling The Cheapest Petrol In Africa? by Kukutente23: 1:30pm On Jul 21, 2023 |
nairalanda1:Who is kukleta? I'm interrogating your claims and you're looking for excuses. You ran out of excuses and your invoking names? I think it's OK to accept when facts prove you wrong |
| Re: Fact Check: Is Nigeria Selling The Cheapest Petrol In Africa? by nairalanda1(m): 1:35pm On Jul 21, 2023 |
Kukutente23:Nope, you are wrong, and you are also wrong about me, kukutenta old boy. Now that I know who you are, go meet your friend Tinubu. You were there together at Ojota now. And you are free to prove me wrong, as 99.999 percent of people on this site support subsidy and thus agree with you.. I'm probably the only one who thinks it is wrong. And who doesn't like the fact. But hey, you are popular, so why are you worried about me ? I'm not in it for the likes. If everyone thinks I am wrong, so far as I know I am right, I'm all right. You on the other hand, are paying too much for stress over what one unpopular person thinks. ![]() Stop taking this site serious...and relax! ![]() |
| Re: Fact Check: Is Nigeria Selling The Cheapest Petrol In Africa? by Kukutente23: 1:38pm On Jul 21, 2023 |
nairalanda1:How are you right? You just claimed subsidy works in China because they subsidise manufacturers (refineries) while you earlier claimed subsidy killed our refineries. How come according to your "rightful" analysis, it is only in Nigeria that subsidy kills refineries? Any mitigating factors? |
| Re: Fact Check: Is Nigeria Selling The Cheapest Petrol In Africa? by nairalanda1(m): 1:42pm On Jul 21, 2023 |

nairalanda1:Don't run away. Be a man. You have been providing excuses from thread to thread. Explain this one too. Why is subsidy only bad in Nigeria even to the extent of killing refineries while it helps refineries in China? |
