Any Bikers In Lagos? And Any Good Bike Trails? by IjeBos(op): 2:49pm On Jul 22, 2023
I'm going to spend some time in Lagos the next few months. I was thinking of bringing one of my bikes for exercise. Are there any bike groups/clubs that ride regularly? How do you deal with the traffic? Also are there any bike trails/paths that are safe if I bring a gravel/mountain bike instead?

No trails I know off, just bring a road bike. There are some clubs I believe.

Ahh.. No trails. Surprising.
The road bike was my first thought. But a friend cautioned that it was really unsafe (he lives on the island). How do they clubs navigate the traffic?

Typically they have a car driving behind them that serves as a barrier.

I used to cycle as a workout at a point, used to head out at past 6 and get back in by past 7 in the morning. Idea was to be off the road before traffic got crazy and that was weekends only.

Thanks. That makes sense.
So, a friend of mine recently cautioned me against it. Told me he had a friend die in Ikoyi biking. I'm double minded and so following the path of least resistance, most likely won't bring a bike, but would still like to bike at least once while I'm there. Is there any place to rent a decent bike? Appreciate all the info.
