The Fear of God is one of the things that isn't often talked about in modern day Christianity. Yes indeed God is merciful but we shouldn't forget he is also just.

The Fear of God doesn't necessarily mean to be terrified of him, of course if you are a sinner you have to.
The Fear of God is the deep love and respect we should have for him, he is our maker, he sent his son Jesus ( Our Lord) to die for our sins, he provides for us and his mercies endures forever. We owe it to him as his children.

Let's take a look at those who didn't fear him
1) The devil and his angels
2) Sodom and Gomorrah
3) Adam and Eve

They didn't endure in his presence forever.

But let's look at those who feared him.
1) Jesus
2) Abraham and Isaac
3) Joseph and David

They were blessed and glorified.

God loves us deeply, but if we don't fear him or obey his words we are stepping on his love.
