Another cowardly way of solving problems. Trying same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. It is either you are courageous enough to remove it or you simply just keep increasing the price without taking the bull by the horns. Anyway, no one who saw how he governed Anambra should be surprised though, it is how they repacked the man to look like a saint that I am still trying to understand. |

Varunpulyani:That your screenshot was from September 2022. By January 2023, just 1 month to the presidential election, he said and I quote, "I can assure you it will go immediately... Subsidy I've said it before is organised crime, and I cannot allow it to stay a day longer"The video is below for your viewing displeasure, because you hate the truth. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lrgp1pMZNSw |

This is what psychologists refer to sunk-cost fallacy. Obidients don't want to admit that they supported a candidate that was clearly anti-subsidy. That video clearly shows Obi saying Subsidy is organised crime and would go from day one of his administration. Now that theory has eventually advanced into practical, everyone can now see that removal of subsidy with a weak currency is a recipe for disaster. If Jonathan had done it when $ was ₦150, it would have been bearable. |

All these forth and back about who said what is not necessary. One thing I am glad about is that subsidy is gone. Anyone against it knows that it's the best thing to do but wants to still score cheap political points |

9jatriot:You people are not too brighten but always rush to look like you do. Firstly, if you listen to Obi most interview about subsidy you'll see how he analysis it without much effect on the poor masses. Secondly, many of you don't know that the real fraud on subsidy is on the claim of our daily consumption which was claimed to be around 68million Liters per day. Thirdly, Obi puts forward a sound data where he said how can Pakistan with more population than Nigeria being consuming less fuel than Nigeria? Data shows that Pakistan is consuming around 30-35million Liters per day. So you see that if the fraud around subsidy can be eliminated, people will know that subsidy isn't that much a burden on the government. Fourthly, Obi talks about fighting this fraud in subsidy payment, then goes ahead to emphasize on how to empower local refineries and establishment of modular refineries which if they are in place, quantity of fuel imported will be reduced. Lastly, so what a serious leader should have done before removing subsidy finally is to ensure getting actual data on daily consumption, take a strict measure to ensure smuggling of fuel through boarders are curtain, look into how local refineries can kick start then modular refineries. So instead of putting the burden on poor masses to endure and sacrifice, the government should have done the same (since the government has been doing so before) by sacrificing few months of fuel subsidy payment why addressing aforementioned points. But I guess you people can't reason like your leader. |

Every single thing you have listed here is what successive government have been doing or at least tried to do, Only a lunatic or someone who takes advise from a mad person that will keep doing the same thing and still be surprise if the results are different. Your lamba king is a master at double speak so that you cannot hold him to a promise. Someone that said clearly that subsidy will go immediately during election just because it was the right thing to say is now trying to play on the intelligence of his not so sensible followers by claiming that he would have massage their body so that the effects will not be felt. Subsidy removal is a bitter pill serious people have now realized that it has to go but the question has always been, who has the courage to remove it. More like, who will bell the cat, Tinubu has shown such uncommon courage that other government will wish they have, including your lamba king, even though none of them will wish to be the one to remove it. 9jatriot:It's a lie, point out any government that did the same with evidences. Your lamba king is a master at double speak so that you cannot hold him to a promise. That's your cup of tea. But the truth is he pointed it out and not just I'll remove subsidy blabla like your drug lord just did . Someone that said clearly that subsidy will go immediately during election just because it was the right thing to say is now trying to play on the intelligence of his not so sensible followers by claiming that he would have massage their body so that the effects will not be felt. All the statements attribute to him were before election so if you don't understand him when he said IMMEDIATELY then it's your problem. Besides, subsidy removal is in phases so a good leader can block the loop holes of subsidy fraud within weeks in office which is still IMMEDIATELY. So just accept that your drug lord didn't know anything before he pronounced subsidy gone. Subsidy removal is a bitter pill serious people have now realized that it has to go but the question has always been, who has the courage to remove it.The same serious people who fought against it in 2012 dragging the whole nation back 11years. Another idiot point is to think others don't have the courage. The reason why someone like GEJ relaxed in subsidy removal is because he knows he can still play around with it since there's enough money for the nation to spend. Buhari on the other hand has to get deep into loan to do the same. So enough serious government that has to continue with subsidy must find a way of getting alternative like heavily cutting down the cost of running the Gov and how to raise the IGR. So your drug lord has no such capability. More like, who will bell the cat, Tinubu has shown such uncommon courage that other government will wish they haveBut other Gov successfully removed subsidy on Kerosine, Diesel, Gas. So why do you think they don't have the courage to remove petrol? Just come with another lie. including your lamba king, even though none of them will wish to be the one to remove itOlodo... |
