Blogger Erroneously Receives Over N12.9M And This Happened

First of all, before I proceed with the true incident that took place on July 19, 2023, I want to state here clearly I had to persuade the Blogger whose name is Mazino Oyolo and who owns mazinooyolo.com to narrate the full story of what happened.

He is someone who doesn’t like publicity but has a simple and quiet life. I let him know that this isn’t a bad incident and that people need to publicize good and honest deeds to let people know that there are still good people in Nigeria.

Here is the story that he narrated everything to me.

“Exactly on July 19 at 12:32 am, I transferred N49,000 from my Vpay merchant account to my VFD personal account (Vbank). I normally use the merchant account for receiving payments from my clients.

I used to receive push notifications, emails, and SMS for every transaction but this time, Vbank didn’t send any alerts. Because I was at that time chatting with a friend, I forget to check. At around 2:00 am, I decided to check.
I was surprised to see over N2,000,000 on my account. I didn’t know where the money comes from. I was trying to figure out where the money could have come from. So I log out and told one of my friends on Whatsapp about what I saw and she was saying I should check again that it can be an error.

I log in to the app again and I saw that the money was increasing, it has gotten to N3,000,000. That was went I decided to check the transaction history and saw that the bank was sending N49,000 to my account every minute.

With the app, you can chat their customer care, so I decided to try that option but they are not responsive. I was getting robotic messages probably from the chatbot. So I went to Whatsapp to try the same thing but it still was still a chatbot responding to me.
I went further to find Vpay support contact. I was able to get their Whatsapp around and started chatting with a representative, at this time it was around 4:48 am.

I don’t want to divulge every detail of the conversation between me and customer support. The person asked for my account details and I provided him/her with the details. I don’t know whether it was a woman or a man I was chatting with.

I told her the Vpay support I have reported the matter too to VFD CEO/MD on Twitter and I have also contacted Vbank too on Twitter but no response yet and I am going to sleep, anytime that they are ready, they can remove their money because it is safe with me and I won’t touch it.

I woke up around 7 am, my account balance was over N13,000,000. I went to contact Vpay support on Whatsapp about the current situation and the person said they have been able to stop the money from coming and that I should transfer the money back from my Vbank to my Vpay account.

I told the person that, I can’t because my Vbank account can only do N2,000,000 daily so they should find a way to reverse the money by themselves.

Around 7:51 am, Vbank responded on Twitter saying they have notify their technical team of the situation and that provide updates once a resolution is reached.
So I went back to sleep and when I woke up around 12:30 pm to notice they have remove the money.”

That was the story and he show me the screenshots of the transactions. I asked if the bank compensated him for his honesty, and he said No. I also asked why he didn’t transfer like N100,000 away from the money before informing the bank.

He said it is stealing and it is not his money.
I have always known Mazino Oyolo to be a trusted person but this one shocked me but the fact he doesn’t even want people to know about it. He made a post about it before and took it off his Facebook page.

This is very unbelievable.

Imagine he didn't contact the bank. The money get to N20,000,000 to N50,000,000 and then he cashout.

Some people will quietly take the money and move out of the country.

This is great.

Nigerians are good people. We should stop focusing on only the negative things.

Wondering why they didn't compensate the guy for his honesty.

You are right but I don't think the Mod wants to move this to FP but if it was bad news like maybe the guy stole the money, they would have move it since.

Truly, the bank didn't try.
