Dear Seun and moderators.

I think it is high time you dealt with the tendency on this site for people to be abusive to people they disagree with....like this member calling me crazy, when I did not abuse him, and in fact just made a comment disagreeing with him.

There is something wrong with this site when all people do is be abusive towards others for no good reason.

And to you that I am responding to @okuta007

Because you think I am crazy, therfore any further communication with you is pointless.

I did not abuse you, I was as polite as I could be, and I don't know why you decided that I should be called crazy.

Good evening, and have a good day.

my sincere apologies for the insult - however misinformation is a greater sin on this site than insults - thanks

God When?

Before you quote me ignorantly remember

The millitary built 4 refineries, the democratic govt built none

99.9% of our national assets were built by the millitary but sold by the democratic govts

They conducted the most free and fair elections in the country but our democratic govts are struggling to conduct just one that is acceptable by the people

In the 8yrs of his millitary regime, Sani Abacha never exhibit any element of nepotism in him, when he wanted to create states, he did it in all the zones of the country

He built hospitals in every state of the country

Go to Abuja and ask, his footprint is everywhere
Do you need to start counting the atrocity committed by the military government? Or you are just trying to crack a joke.

Armed robbery was a thing under army rule, as was , sometimes kidnapping. And during the 1980's there was one long issue of religious riots one after another...and the usual tribal issues.(ESPECIALLY in the North)

I could even argue that the kidnapping we have now is unfinished business from army rule...they did not diversify our economy (we became more dependent on oil under army rule, and more import dependent), and they did not aggressively deal with educating the large mass of youngsters being born.

(Civillians too did nothing).

Reuslt...the crisis we have.
I have come to a conclusion that only ignorant people are in support of military rule.

what civil war ? IF the military takes over today today - there will be wide spread jubilation all over Nigeria

IF we can have a military government come in and strengthen the institutions and create a fool proof electoral system and confiscate the ill gotten wealth of those who stole from the system in the last 24 years, using it to better our society - repair our refineries for good and improve the society and sincerely hand over to a civilian administration in 4 years - the ku leaders will become instant national heroes

if they can be true to re-write the constitution based on them will of the people respecting the diversity of the country, ensuring that every Nigerian can vote with their BVN using something like ATM machine where the votes will be seen as votes are happening live - with zero incidence of manipulation or intimidation - Nigerians will be eternally grateful to these group of soldiers who wil save Nigeria from these evil APC leaders and their accomplices in the judiciary
Those are lots of IF's... The Naija military of today has adorned the toga of laxity And corruption.

This is a terrible intake by a novice on politics. You are even praising Abacha. Lol. Do you honestly think if there was no military coup in Nigeria, we would be in this current mess? A bunch of illiterate cultureless men without regard for intellectual discussions, who determine right and wrong by who pulls the trigger first cannot make a great nation. Anyone that takes power through force without a reasonable justification must also fear retaliation. This is always the beginning of a downward spiral. Also, to keep such power you must bribe many, repress many and rewrite the constitution to favor you. Since 1999, we have had 2 former heads-of-state as president and they have displayed nothing but incompetence. Nigeria is still struggling from the centralized system that those brutes left us. Your thinking process is dangerous especially if adopted by enough people. Do you think the brutes that started civil war and mismanaged the golden age of Nigeria and oil boom with wave a magic wand and repair the country?
To be fair, it's Buhari that displayed nothing but incompetence.
Obj showed great commitment in managing our external debts and stabilising the exchange rate. Budgeted billions of dollars for power equipment that same Nigerian unpatriotic bureaucrats left to languish at the ports. Don't compare the two pls.
Buhari was the biggest mistake Nigeria ever made.

Even if they are testing the water there and then decide to bring it to Nigeria, that will be the end of Nigeria. Don't be surprised if some world powers fighter jets make it to Nigeria before the coup is carried out. The entire Yoruba population will be in the streets of Lagos and collapse Nigeria, Nigeria runs on Yoruba and it would be time for us to close shop.

not true - in 1966 the elites in the military were like that when Majors Nzeogwu, Ademoyega and co struck and wiped out 60% of that elite class of compromised ogas at the top in the military

when Murtala and Obasanjo struck in 1975, the elites in the military like David Ejoor. Usman Katsina were already compromised so they were eased out

Under Shagari - the Army elites like Gen Wushishi were compromised already that’s why Middle class officers like Babangida and Abacha struck

likewise today - if the military top class are compromised, there are tons of middle class officers whose blood is boiling for genuine change that can effect it when the time comes

so don’t conclude all of them are like jelly fish

The biggest fear of every coup plotter is not that he can not remove the president or civilian administration- it is the fear of not being accepted by the people they claim to come save

once this shege reach some stage now, if nigerians hear martial music say army take over- people will be jubilating like say na jesus christ come - ona never see anything

i remember the feeling in Nigeria on January 1 1984 when then Maj Gen Buhari was on tv making a nation wide broadcast on new year day - it was like Jesus came to the world because the austerity measure then under Shagari was becoming unbearable

there was mass hoarding of food and essential commodities that the moment Buhari promised to use the military to ration food and essential commodity- everyone was happy and thankful Buhari saved us from starvation

i have lived it so i am not commenting here from text books or social media knowledge- i was there live to see what the military can do
