qtguru:There's a difference in tone... however, the point is, shebi these things na choice? I choose what I choose and that's my business. Sometimes I prefer writing my own css classes than using tailwindcss or sass or any other library. When i built the component, the library was specifically asked for. So sometimes I dey wonder why people just dey like do oversabi. Client say him want something and I suppose do otherwise abi? He won't even accept the bounty cos you didn't follow specific rules.

jikins:And nobody is even arguing that one with you or anyone par se. 🙄 One thing I learnt with Nigerians tech-head is, we too like to correct other people's work while leaveing out ours in the git repos. Shebi we know say NPM dey make app dey bloated. If I pay you money to use am, if you like no use am. Come dey preach give me... I go kukuma carry my money give who go use the library for me. He started his statement with js guys and you say no be troll 🤣 dey play ooo. |

niel63:Well maybe he is trolling thats his headache but at least we can agree there is a point about the bloat |

niel63:So it's a balance, for a non technical client he won't be bothered about the approach, some clients might have restrictions towards using some libraries because of license. so they'd rather roll out their version. For me I will write mine, because most often times, the libraries are over-kill |

qtguru:You'll write yours against client's request? These libraries have large weekly downloads... this particular one has almost 3million weekly downloads and I wonder who uses them 🤔 These libraries have backers and sponsors and I wonder who they are for. It'll always boil down to choices and approaches. No one cap fits all here. Some people get big head. ![]() |

niel63:I always use libraries, well for me it's few lines to abstract FileReader and ProgressEvent, but if a library can do it with less dependencies than I could use that, but my issue is npm's excess dependency tree. |

niel63:It makes sense till the dev decides to delete the library repo. And you had node modules in your git ignore ![]() I wasn't even trolling, but if na so you see am, I am ready to jump into the bus. ![]() You created a challenge thread, yet you don't want challenge. Mr No-suggestion-is-welcome, I am not preaching reinventing the wheel. For simple things, copy and paste codes instead of installing a library. I always use react-hook-form for client side React forms, and I always use Zod for form validations... I am not against using libraries. I know say you follow for the millions of people that use the is-odd library. A library that returns true is a number is an odd number Your client specifically requested for the library I will not call you a liar sha. You want us to troll? I will happily do so. I have over 10 years of experience in stupidity. I will bring you down to my level and destroy you with experience. Try me |

If you had properly read through, you'd see where I attached a screenshot where he made that request. Wetin wan make me dey lie for nairaland boy. ![]() I knew I bleeped up big time when I responded to you after seeing your Moniker. As in ehn... who talks to a dick? ![]() Oya rest in Jesus name. I believe I've settled this with the reasonable ones who gave me their valid suggestions. We are learning here. Troll me from now reach tomorrow, I go still waka this evening go drink one very cold bottle of Heineken ![]() Dey here dey watch ![]() |
