Burkina Faso and Mali warn Nigeria and others against intervention in Niger; say it would be a ‘declaration of war.

Burkina Faso and Mali have warned that any intervention in neighbouring Niger would be considered a “declaration of war” against their two countries, a signal of support for leaders of the recent coup there.

Also they’ve thraatened to withdraw their ECOWAS membership and rise up in support of Niger’s military government should the West African bloc attempt to invade the country.
The two countries where soldiers had earlier ceased power from civilian government expressed their support for the recent military takeover of power in Niger last month in a joint statement on Monday, vowing to “assist the people of Niger” to fight invaders.
